Those are beautiful pictures, Jersey Lilly. I like them better than the real thing, because they are quieter and they don't start fires.

Happy Fourth of July, everyone. :)

Great photos Lilly!

Last night would have been a good fireworks night here. No wind, and very dark. The no wind is something to mark down on a calendar here in the Dakotas!

One question, how do you get the fireworks photos without them being blurry? What settings do you use on your camera? When I use the night feature on mine, they are blurry.

Thanks in advance for any advice you'd offer.

We are so lucky here on ranchers with the wealth of talent we have!

Cheers---

TTB

Our neighbors did a BIG fireworks display that has now cost me about $500+ dollars.

They were aiming them across my pasture ( right across the county road from their house) and scared the bee jeebers outta the cows and they crashed thru the fence running from the sparks landing on them and the boom right on their heads. These is country cows and know not of such fancy things!!

6 legs sewn up by the vet, ( way beyond my skills) and one of the Aussie dogs got so freaked she tore thru her chain link pen and destroyed her mouth...another 5 stitches there .

So far...an expen$ive holiday for me.

WE have one dog that rips the front door down to get in every fourth or openeing of dove/deer season.. Doesn't like thunderstorms too much either so we tend to let her into the kitchen or mudroom mow, easier to clean up after her than it is to fix the damage.. Amazing what a 120 pound determine dog can do o a door..

Thanks for the nice comments.

We popped ours last night since most everyone that was there is off today, but has to work tomorrow, they didnt want to be out late tonight.
We'll do our eatin here in a couple hours LOL Got my cake in the oven, so had a few minutes to get on line while I wait for it to bake.

As for settins on my camera, I put it on the night settin, and didn't expect much in the way of clear photo's (normally stuff is blurry if I try night shots) . I did get a few blurry ones, but quite a few of them turned out clear enuff to post. Guess I was just lucky.

Sorry to hear of all your troubles Kola, I do think I'd be lettin the neighbors know what all it caused, just so they know in the future. Hadn't given it much thought...our cows were directly across the road from where we did the fireworks too...maybe I should go out and check on em LOL Normally ours don't spook much at loud noises, since the train goes by right there in front of our place....huntin out there they usually just look and then go back to eatin after a gun goes off. Dunno.....but if it aint pourin down rain this afternoon I'll prolly make a trip out there to check em....to be on the safe side.

Wouldn't hurt to look in on'em. I thought mine were pretty bomb proof also. I think it was the bright colors that had them REALLY freaked out. I guess if I was a cow and all of a sudden there was green and red lightning all around...I'd run also!

Oh...the neighbors know ALL about it. They're not bad folks and didn't do it on purpose...they just didn't think.

Some of the sparks were fallin' on me while I was out there trying to calm'em down and sort out what all was going on. No wonder they ran....those sparks hurt!!!

Our shrimp and pork loin roll ups were really good. A cousin brought stuffed baked jalapeno peppers....all they had in em was cream cheese with Tony Sacheries(sp) springled on top and then baked for about 25 minutes...oh man the was good. Mother in Law boiled "new potatos" and then put them on the grill for a few minutes...then back in a bowl with butter, garlic and parsley they was good too. Oh...and a big ole pot of Anisazi beans. Wooo hooo thank goodness fer leftovers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gee, maybe we should have a 4th of July catagory in the photo

Guess I'll head on over there now, and add that catagory!!!!
