Techno-Net is the protest form of the 1990s -- picketing on the information highways. For example, a fast-growing assortment of men and women around the world are using the InterNet (started by the U.S. military for information transfer-and-exchange that would never be interfered with) to draw attention to a questionable military project in Alaska. Now these InterNetting, e-mailing, faxing folks are blowing holes in the Department of Defense secrecy wall, by using the government's own system.

The printed-word part of the protest started when Dennis Specht, an anti-nuclear activist then living in Alaska, sent a news item to Nexus on the topic of HAARP --- the High frequency Active Auroral Research Program. Then an Alaskan political activist and science researcher in Anchorage, Nick Begich, networked with Patrick and Gael Crystal Flanagan, who are self-described TechnoMonks living in Sedona, Arizona, and was told to check out that same Australian-based magazine. Begich was surprised to see an item from his hometown in Nexus, and immediately headed to the local library to dig out the documents cited in the article.

That research led to articles and the book, Angels Don't Play this HAARP: Advances in Tesla Technology, which is 230 pages of detailed information on this intrusive project. This article will only give highlights. Despite the amount of research (350 footnotes), at its heart it is a story about ordinary people who took on an extraordinary challenge.

HAARP Boils The Upper Atmosphere
HAARP will zap the upper atmosphere with a focused and steerable electromagnetic beam. It is an advanced model of an "ionospheric heater". (The ionosphere is the electrically-charged sphere surrounding Earth's upper atmosphere. It ranges between about 40- to 600 miles above Earth's surface.)

Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope; antennas send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything -- living and dead.

HAARP publicity gives the impression that the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program is mainly an academic project with the goal of changing the ionosphere to improve communications for our own good. However, other U.S. military documents put it more clearly -- HAARP aims to learn how to "exploit the ionosphere for Department of Defense purposes". Communicating with submarines is only one of those purposes.

Press releases and other information from the military on HAARP continually downplay what it could do. Publicity documents insist that the HAARP project is no different than other ionospheric heaters operating safely throughout the world in places such as Arecibo, Puerto Rico; Tromso, Norway and the former Soviet Union. However, a 1990 government document indicates that the radio-frequency (RF) power zap will drive the ionosphere to unnatural activities.

"...at the highest HF powers available in the West, the instabilities commonly studied are approaching their maximum RF energy dissipative capability, beyond which the plasma processes will 'runaway' until the next limiting factor is reached."

If the military, in cooperation with the University of Alaska Fairbanks, can show that this new ground-based "Star Wars" technology is sound, they both win. The military has a relatively-inexpensive defense shield and the University can brag about the most dramatic geophysical manipulation since atmospheric explosions of nuclear bombs. After successful testing, they would have the military megaprojects of the future and huge markets for Alaska's North Slope natural gas.

Looking at the other patents which built on the work of a Texas' physicist named Bernard Eastlund, it becomes clearer how the military intends to use the HAARP transmitter. It also makes governmental denials less believable. The military knows how it intends to use this technology, and has made it clear in their documents. The military has deliberately misled the public, through sophisticated word games, deceit and outright disinformation.

The military says the HAARP system could:
give the military a tool to replace the electromagnetic pulse effect of atmospheric thermonuclear devices (still considered a viable option by the military through at least 1986).
replace the huge Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) submarine communication system operating in Michigan and Wisconsin with a new and more compact technology.
Be used to replace the over-the-horizon radar system that was once planned for the current location of HAARP, with a more flexible and accurate system.
provide a way to wipe out communications over an extremely large area, while keeping the military's own communications systems working.
provide a wide area earth-penetrating tomography which, if combined with the computing abilities of EMASS and Cray computers, would make it possible to verify many parts of nuclear nonproliferation and peace agreements.
be a tool for geophysical probing to find oil, gas and mineral deposits over a large area.
be used to detect incoming low-level planes and cruise missiles, making other technologies obsolete.
The above abilities seem like a good idea to all who believe in sound national defense, and to those concerned about cost-cutting. However, the possible uses which the HAARP records do not explain, and which can only be found in Air Force, Army, Navy and other federal agency records, are alarming. Moreover, effects from the reckless use of these power levels in our natural shield - the ionosphere - could be cataclysmic according to some scientists.

Two Alaskans put it bluntly. A founder of the NO HAARP movement, Clare Zickuhr, says "The military is going to give the ionosphere a big kick and see what happens."

The military failed to tell the public that they do not know what exactly will happen, but a Penn State science article brags about that uncertainty. Macho science? The HAARP project uses the largest energy levels yet played with by what Begich and Manning call "the big boys with their new toys". It is an experiment on the sky, and experiments are done to find out something not already known. Independent scientists told Begich and Manning that a HAARP-type "skybuster" with its unforeseen effects could be an act of global vandalism.

Hmmmm......

New Orleans has 2000 years worth of oil in the gulf of the Mississippi Delta! I wonder if this is what they were looking for when the waters heated up and that crazy zig....zag hurricane Katrina hit La.

Ohhh and I forgot to mention how the oil tankers were ordered to dump oil on the edge of the back roads outside Houston during the Katrina gas shortage. I guess the weeds along the highways were out of control.

Oiling the roads???

That looks like the "Black OPS"

Like the guy that was east of the Mississippi who the governement tried to put a water meter on his well. This falls within the confines of Agenda 21 "water conservation and controlling of water rights.

Then there was this other guy who the governement tried to take his grain after the grainery went bankrupt. His grain was stored in the grain elevator and when the feds came in they told him they were taking his grain. He told the feds he was going to take back his grain because it belonged to him, so his neighbors came in and helped him get his grain .......

This also falls within the realm of agenda 21.....with the Patriot Act and the hidden things within these bills being passed. They give congress 20 minutes to read 300 pages of one bill.....

Thats how the "Black OPS" sneak in their new law agendas.

After reading through some of your posts, I figured that you would recognize them.

I've never seen them, personally. I figured you had. They're everywhere, aren't they?

Those are the guys that flew to my house, landed in my yard , and tried to sell me gas pills ...they said it worked good on their helicopters. I told them they were full of double think and that I was voting libertarian this year...no thanks.

Now since they destroyed New Orleans during Katrina and Rita with their HARRP program snooping to see how much oil lays under ground.... and blowing up the dikes using the cover of the Katrina Hurricane they are not going to allow the people back on their land.

As the Katrina investigation gets underway.... One said "they want to sell us back our own land, have you ever heard of such a thing!"

They want to keep that land because it is the gateway to the midwest because it gives them control of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers.

Believe this or not....New Orleans was the key turning point in the revolutionary war, without it we would have never gained Sovereignty from England from the King.

That's how important that port is!

The King wants it back, that is why Blair has tried to buy land their.

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina, and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted.

Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do, like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then, but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there, done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Yours,

Michael Moore

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

good thing I didn't sell my Jeep to by a Hyundai.....

if there is 2000 years worth of Oil in the Mississippi Delta, why are we not drilling for it?

Go over to US at War and it explains that.

Not really.....

if the war was about oil, or a turn to the Euro, then it still does not explain why we are not going after recovered oil reserves in the US....

the Gulf oil...ANWR, California, and PA,,,oil repleshment reserves....while promising is only part of the ability to recover oil reserves from replenishing resources...
A concerted, collaborative national exploration campaign searching for new Plays might explode the total hydrocarbon reserves "booked" for the United States Gulf of Mexico to greater than 50 billion barrels of yet unrecovered hydrocarbons

We can't sell our own oil for the euro. The rest of the world has to buy our oil to keep the value of the dollar up.

Oil backs the US dollar and if we use our own oil what is going to back the dollar? If everyone else turns to the euro then the dollar is worthless.

If this war---which all here know I am against, but another topic for another day!!!----was for OIL....well enough of this.... GET IT OVER HERE NOW!!!!

I paid $2.56/gal yesterday. It was rumored @ the start of this war that the revenue from the Iraqi oil would help offset it's cost....well then sell me some gas and I'll do my part to offset the cost then!!!

By the by...where is all that oil going anyway????/

By the by...where is all that oil going anyway????/

by recent discoveries, there is more then one source of oil, pools, (such as most of the old reserves were thought to be from), shale , (which is hard to extract), and now seems or seeps, and if you can extract from a seem, you can "redirect" a replenishing source before it pools,

we are sitting on the four largest "sources" of world oil, the Pa fields, the Cal shelf, the Mississsippe delta, and ANWR, if we use the world supply in pools then "redirect" drilling towards the seems we can "control" the world oil supply, and former oil rich countries will have little control....

but then again this is all speculation,,,,,,i

We can't sell our own oil for the euro

if the dollar deflates or devalues, and debt is recovered at a lower rate, then the trillion dollar deficit is paid in inflated opec oil, can't we pay it off with less oil? thus clearing our debt for less then it was incured at?

if our debt rate was $28 dollars when we borrowed, (one barrel of oil) and paid back with a $68 dollar Barrel, would we not make a $ 40 profit on that debt if our currency is backed by oil?

and if the reverse is true Borrowing at $68 dollars ( a current price per barrel)...then repaying as it drops, means a lower loss rate.....

so if I borroed one barrel of oil that cost $68, the paid back the same barrel when the price drops to $38, I again profited by $30.....for a net gain of $70, more then the entire transaction was worth.....

ain't economics great.......

the same place our excess Alaskan oil is going, to China to buy back Dollars...?

Let me explain it to you. There are two oil borgs. In 1971 (Nixion era) Mr. Rockefeller went to all the oil producing countries and negotiated a deal. "If you sell your oil for US dollars only, we will make you rich and in turn, you take a percentage of that profit and pay to our national deficit.
So there are two oil borgs;
New York
London

These people decide what they want to pay per barrel of oil on a daily bases (same as cattle). Then this gives them control of the US dollar value; thus keeping the dollar as the worlds base currency. If we show all the oil we have then why would anybody use the dollar to sell their oil when we have the most or the biggest reserve.

If Iran starts their own oil borg selling for the euro what happens to the dollar, it drops like a rock, because Iraq under US embargos Mr. Hussein could not feed his people and decided to sell oil for euro, and exchange food for money.

Being as crooked as other political governments, he became greedy and pissed off, (Kuwait then enters the picture), drilling at an angle to tap Iraqi oil reserves Hussein gets pissed off , having the 4th largest military in the world he opted to attack Kuwait to teach them a lesson.

Meanwhile the US Government endeavoring to create the 3rd world war now has an excuse to attack. If Iran builds their own oil borge selling for euro the dollar value will drop vastly making America a third world country by disposing the middle class.

Now if this war is about WMD, why did Bush go to India and give them the same Nuclear capabilities as Iran :???:
