Last nite we had the biggest moon shining over the sandhills...Sure hope you all had the same moon to enjoy. Pictures just don't do it justice, but I tried...

Moon was so orange and big as it rose above the hills.

On the way home, we stopped by the lake and caught this moon reflection on the water...It was so impressive in real life

Moons are really hard to photograph...got any suggestions Lilly or Soapweed????

Very nice!

I love full moons. 'Course, I always have to go get my hair trimmed!

Back when the kids were younger and I had a younger, well broke team, we always hoped for good weather during the full moon in December, so we could go Christmas caroling. Had lots of fun.

Dang! I just got to get this young team broke and going for next year. They're a little young for this year. Oh! And I'll have to find some kids too!

WOWWWW....they are GREAT JASSY!! girl, I have done told you over and over you have the gift of the EYE!! no one needs to tell you anything. That is the the thing with photography....either you have the eye or you do not, and with yours they come out just as you want them!! You make us all want to be where that picture was taken! Since I got the Sundown Windmill for my birthday ;) do I get the windmill with the moon for xmas?? lmao ..just teasing but they do make a pair.

Luv you girl,
Easty   :)

That was an amazing picture you captured especially on such a light blue sky. Around here it is difficult getting a harvest moon without a tree smack dab in front of it.

Those are real pretty pictures, Jassy. What power did you use on your telescopic lens? My little camera only has a three x power lens, so it is really hard to get good moon shots.

Here is my feeble attempt tonight.

Scuse my asking: what does a haircut have to do with a harvest moon?
I'm almost afraid to hear the answer ...

First off....our moon NEVER looks that big. Don't know why, but it don't. Last night was so cloudy that I didnt even realize it was a full moon night. Guess it was the first of the clouds that moved in with our flood today. We got between 4 and 5 inches today between the house place and the cow pasture. It's about 10 miles between the two.

As for help with the moon shots, they look great to me. Only tip is they are alot easier to manage if you have a tripod. But don't look like you need one, ya done real good without one.

I still can't get over how short n squatty ya'lls windmills are :D

My camera has a 14X zoom, but I didn't have it set all the way. I wanted to get the comparison of the windmill head to the moon, to try and show how big the moon was...It was about 5:30 p.m. and we were on our way to take off the pumpjack off another windmill, and I hollered to Hubby "stop the truck"....lol fortunatly he's pretty use to that phrase. Carrying a tripod in the ranch truck just isn't real handy... :?

The windmill in that picture Lilly is pretty short and squatty...just for the fact that it's in an open meadow and so it doesn't have to be tall to catch a breeze. Most of our pasture windmills are tall.

I really liked how you captured your moon shot Soapweed...it helps I think if you have something else to focus on besides the moon.

Hey Easty! I'm glad to see that you're still among the living...I was beginning to think that you were swallowed up by your schoolbooks..lol
Glad you liked the moon shot too.

Had to laugh at Jinglebob...I just got my hair cut the day before I took the pictures..lol So guess I'm safe for another month... :D

Thanks for the encoureging words ya'll!

The only time my tripod gets used is if I'm on my way home after sunset and there's somethin I want a photo of and I get to the house and grab it and go back. Most times I'm too late. I've tried and tried to get shots without it , but unless there's a fairly large corner post or somethin to set my camera on so it's still, the pictures come out blurry. Fence posts make perdy good tripods in a pinch  LOL
