I have never heard the term Buckaroo, only read about it once or twice,in a book or two, since reading books,is not something I enjoy.............good luck

In all fairness to real buckaroos...they are usually hand with a horse and a rope, and are well respected in their own area...namely Nevada. That handiness with a horse and rope is why their attire is copied in other places.

Tap and I have talked about Martin Black and how good he is with horses. He is a buckaroo that works for the Van Patton ranch I believe, and when they had their horse sale on RFD-TV it was obvious how good he was.

Remember Pat Parelli says, "Normal changes every 50 miles."

In all fairness to Azcowpuncher, I am sure he is a good cowboy. I enjoyed his stories, and took them for what they were. They were good stories, probably mostly fact with a little fiction thrown in for good measure. That is a story-teller's prerogative, and he isn't the first cowboy story-teller to excercise this option . What I don't appreciate though, is his attitude. His mouth got to running faster than his brain. He said slanderous things about some folks, and that made all of us see red. I just feel badly that our old buddy Jinglebob got drug down through the same mud. As far as I am concerned, both Jinglebob and Azcowpuncher would be welcome back on this board. It is a good lesson for all of us to watch what we say, because what we write can and will be used against us.

However, just to clarify things, I don't think AZcowmangler would make a pimple on a cowboy's butt. :P

Speakin of azcowmangler,I bet he reads evryone of these posts, and just jumps with joy when he can ban someone from their website,he will wait a long time to ban this ole cowboy
good luck

I agree 100%, Soap. I can sure stick my foot in my mouth on a regular basis. Very seldom am I wearing boots when I do it, mostly I wear my velcro tennies. I don't have stirrups either. The tennies fit the floorboards of my horse named Polaris quite well! :D

PS, I could tell the story of the big mean Corriente vs Polaris the wonder horse ..... but I won't!  :D

Well, I'm gonna vary from this position( Now THAT shocks ya don't it?? )

This is a forum where opinions can and should be expressed of a free nature, and we all expressed ours in their various forms. If we all were of like mind...well then we'd be same as the site of AZ/JB!

I for one have not and do not plan to loose one bit of sleep over AZ or JB or worry over ANYTHING I said.

JB cut ties with me ,via an email sent to me., not I with him. I ,in reply , then wished him and his the best and said that " I'd leave him to his knitting", so the ball is in his court.

As far as JB/AZ returning to this board, that is not for me to say whether I approve or disapprove as it's not my website. He , JB,left because he wanted to....no body asked him or even insinuated such.

I think we all were stunned that JB, as the elder of the two, would allow a friend of his to speak like that to others. Granted I only met JB for a few hours, one day, last year but I can't see JB allowing one of his sons to talk like that to other people no matter the circumstance. But, I've been wrong before!

I , on the other hand, have been asked MANY times to leave by many of you....yet foolishly I remain. :? :?

When I was attacked verbally on the forums, threats of arriving on my doorstep to ' visit' me, and via email by a certain poster here NO ONE rushed to my aid what so ever. I finally ' busted' the poster myself and it has seemed to end. ( Now I sure that since I made that statement, it will crank up again!!) I didn't throw my dress over my head and run!

Now, what all that translates into, I have no idea!

For me, I'm done with it. OVER AND OUT!

You and I have had rather heated debates in the past (maybe that is an understatement :-) ), but I never asked you to leave nor wanted you to leave. It is a public board and everyone is welcome, within reason. Filthiness and a bad attitude should be more of a reason for getting kicked off than differing opinions.

Speaking of that, things should go pretty smooth on the elite Cowboy/Buckaroo board, because over there evidently they are all of like mind. Everyone that doesn't tow that line has already been kicked off. Pretty soon there will probably be certain requirements as to how high the crown can be on your hat and how long the fringe can be on your chinks. Boot heels will most likely have to be of a certain standard, and spur straps will only be allowed to be buckled on the inside or the outside, not both ways. Where does one draw the line on who is an "outsider" not to be welcome on a forum? :???: :? :-)

yes Kola, you have taken your fair share of heat here. and I have asked you to leave, and several other options too. but they were said in haste, and uncalled for.

you are to be admired for the way you hung in there and never gave into the pressure. or you are too dumb to get out of the fire, not sure yet!

but I do not want to go as far as to compare you and AZ, there just is no comparison, (even though he works for you!)

enjoy the love, pretty soon you will pop off something that I will feel the need to jump right down your throat, and may have to toss some Cope in your eye!

Where does one draw the line on who is an "outsider" not to be welcome on a forum?
Yeah I guess I am one able to address this .......ask the regulars and if they dont like you or lie about you or accuse you of things without proof then your not welcome.

What this thread shows is yall have been looking for drama and got it now are beating it to death. As kola always says "waiting on the next topic"
I came here to learn but an issue that everyone jumped into made me an outcast and the topic of attack. I am still learning and will continue asking questions.
Try accepting and understanding others and maybe issues would be resolved in a calm manner with both sides learning something. Attacking only serves to tear down someone not build them up or help them learn.

I will be waiting on the atacks I am sure are to come.

Im curious MS Sage, exactly what was it you came here to learn, I never have figured that out..........good luck

I came here to learn about cows. Did you ever ask me ,no you just assumed and went from there.
I have learned some about cows from a few who took me seriously.
Whene I started I was in a big city, very few opportunities to be around cows. So I did what most "city folks" do read and go to the internet and found this place.
What I have found is most here want to cut others down and pat each other on the back for a good berate of someone.

Just my .02 cents worth.....I'd wager that the parties who up and left are lurking here regularly. They are probably finding that their new playground is not as wonderful as they first imagined, and they are missing, nay, CRAVING the attention they used to enjoy here.

I thought the exchange would still be here but can't find it. I think when AZ deleted her, the whole subject went with her. Anyway, she started out asking if anyone knew her family and she gave the location. Then she made a remark about the google links and the gays. Then she said it looked like a pretty Conservative bunch. JB replied that we were but we were open to hearing what people had to say. Then she let loose with a tirade about our present government, to which, JB gave a great answer. I agreed with JB and she wrote back saying we were all a bunch of closed-minded boobs, more or less. So AZ 86-ed her as promised.

I was gonn'a play with her sokme more, but ol' Az spoiled my fun.

The next one, maybe he will let me toy with it a little longer, but you know he is such a kind man, he hated to see her suffer.

I don't think she was gonn'a come back anyway.

Hey, I am all for differences of opinion, but when you throw down about people being narrow minded and all, and then turn around and act that way and bench about it, well, I just can't quite figure that out!

As for gays, I am all for them as I figure for every gay guy out there, that leaves two more wimmen for me and I just loves the wimmens.

Right now I'm apparently the smartass on Ranchers, since one guy asked for an honest answer as to why we commercial angus people don't run a hereford bull on our cows, and I gave it to him. He is fine with it, but the die hard hereford people are a just a little upset with me! I think I'll hide out here once again and leave the hereford boys to salve their wounded pride. lol

Go read the post in ranch under question for commercial angus people. Herefords just don't work for us as well as angus, due to lack of pigment (cancer eye, sunburned bags on spring snow), bad bags, bad feet (we don't trim feet, we cull the cow), and prolapse. When we had a prolapse show up we would cull her and every relative she had in the herd, and after many years got away from it, until we switched hereford breeders, and once again it was showing up. Dehorning with paste was a royal pain, as you could be guaranteed a rain or snow, so you had caustic running down their faces, and that sets them back. We switched to polled bulls for a while but the genetic pool isn't as large as one would like, so there are bad traits there too. Finally we just bit the bullet and went to all angus bulls and have never looked back.
Angus are not perfect, but ours require less feed than the FIL's hereford cows to maintain better condition (running on the same pasture, same conditions, same winter feed, etc), are better mothers without the horror stories hereford breeders would have you believe about mean cows, and the calves are more vigorous and get going under way tougher conditions than the herefords. We used to work for our cows when we had herefords, rather than our cows working for us.
For folks who like herefords, good for them, but I like angus and would never go back to hereford.
Hopefully this answers your question without bringing out the patronizing (expletive deleted) in you like Larry and Juan on that other board. lol

you dont have to worry about me freaking out on someones opinion about cows lol, unless they are taking a direct stab at my cows, and i didnt ask for their opinion. See we only have 1 bull 3 cows, and 3 calves that are pure hereford. Most of ours are mixed, and B/A X herefords seem to good around here, and I love the look of them, thats why we got a black angus. We dont have to use dehorning paste because we have polled herefords. But i know where your comming from. I love my herefords, but i love my black baldies more. Our crosses seem to work well for us, but were hard cullers, if theres one thing wrong with them they go, temperment, fence jumping ability, bad udder whatever we dont like it they are gone. You saw our cross calves in pictures, they are really nice animals, and they havent seen an once of chop all summer, just grass. Our cows work for us, but probaly wouldnt work for someone else. I dont know, its just what we like we have, ya know?

No chars, but besides the Dodge and my Jeep Cherokee, we have a Saturn SC2 that is lots of fun, a souped up old chev pickup and a very beat up old Ford feed truck. I'd go out and buy another Dodge and Jeep in a heart beat, if I had any money to spend. Wouldn't buy another Ford though, I'm afraid. I'll leave them for you and Az and my father in law, who was what made me dislike Ford in the first place.

We had a Saturn and the son drives it now. thinking about another if we could find one the wife could afford.

I've got two little Suzuki's for my 4 wheelers. Ones about worn out. Still good for a spray rig to spray weeds with tho. Lots of fun and handy to get around fencing and salting. Took one up thru' the Black Hills this summer and had a blast. If I fand another cheap one, I will buy it for when the one I drive now wears out.

When I was looking to replace my quad I thought it would be a good idea to get a Suzuki, since they aren't a whole lot bigger than the new quads, but they are pretty pricey, and this country would be a little tough on them, trying to sneak through the trees. Decided on a Polaris Ranger instead and like it so far. It'll pack a lot more salt per load than my old quad and is much easier riding too.

One acquaintance went to a tough truck competition this summer, and of all the trucks and stuff there, the Jeep Cherokee beat them all including Jeep TJ's, which was a bit of a surprise, as the Cherokee is more car like than the rest of the 4x4's.

Go for it. Then we can let them hang themselves if they so choose. If they don't sound kosher, we won't let them in. Man, this is getting to be as much fun as a bouncer in a cathouse! LOL

So typical. Give someone a little authority and they become drunk with power.

I've never been one to bow to authority willingly, since most people with any power tend to like to beat you over the head with it. Kinda rankles a bit!

No, Josie was her mother with a made up story adn Rachell McPhee was her.. Doesn't make much sense to apply "incognito" to a site where people already know you but whatever...

Wool in the Zipper was Jigs however and not MLA..

Ok--you all have me laughing a good one over this! The wool thing. Falls into the category-what are they thinking!!! Some of us get in stuff inadvertantly, but loading it right out there is very funny!!!

On another note, I just got to say that AZ you are a hoot!
