If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb.

If March comes in like a lamb, it will go out like a lion.

–old weather saying

March Proverbs

So many mists in March we see,
So many frosts in May will be.

A peck of March dust is worth a king’s ransom.

The March sun lets snow stand on a stone.

Better to be bitten by a snake than to feel the sun in March.

In March much snow,
To plants and trees much woe.

A windy March and a rainy April make a beautiful May.

A dry March, a wet April.

A wet March, a sad autumn
.

Thursday we had fog, sun, rain, snow, snain, wind.... Yesterday was beautiful and almost 50 degrees- geese going over every direction... Today they are predicting 55...Never even froze last night.....So here March is in like a lamb....

I have some heifers that aren't supposed to start calving until March 15- but are looking like they'll drop a calf if they walk up a steep hill- so need to sort them today and get them in where I can keep a closer eye on them...Probably be a little muddy and slick....

I suppose we'll get the lion the second half the month when the calves are supposed to come......

The weather has been crazy around here also, warm one day and cold the next, rain, snow and then sunny.

Easter lilies are starting to bloom too, just a little early.

I'll second that...Day was beautiful- cows gathered easy- heifers sorted off easy....Everything was perfect until I went back and found that one of the saddle horses that I'd taken the bridles off and left hobbled- had taken a huge bite out of my 4 wheeler seat.....
I guess they don't like competition..

Oh,, to live in the real world. The wind blew hard here yesterday, didn't get above freezing. -18 celcius and cloudy today, calling for snow and wind this evening. Hope Mother Nature remembers the old saying!!! Thank God we don't calve till April, rather do that in mud than Arctic winter like my neighbors. Still 18-20 inches of snow here, starting to bare off around the trees. Life is good, enjoy :(

I put some things out in the garden yesterday and today. Potatoes , lettuce, radishes, spinach , a few bunch type onions. It's supposed to turn cold and snow here tomorrow. It can't last long now though. My girls have been sun tanning this week and have sunburns.
