I heard two different news reports on the radio this morning about a new game that teenagers and others are playing called "Swatting". They are phoning in false reports to the police about suicide attempts, domestic disturbances, illegal firing of "automatic" weapons, robberies in progress, etc., in the hopes that the police will respond to the reports with their SWAT teams.

No one has been killed by the police yet (at least there are no reports of any), but doors are being kicked in, innocent people are being taken into custody, and general mayhem is resulting.

I heard an interview with a guy whose ex-wife had phoned in a false report that the man was trying to commit suicide. He was home alone. The SWAT team cuffed him and took him to a hospital. The doctors at the hospital committed to a mental ward for 72 hours of evaluation and then released him. To date, the ex-wife has not been prosecuted for filing a false report.

One more idiotic thing being done my idiotic people.

I wouldn't put it past any "Gung-Ho" swat team members to call them in.

The ones I know can't wait to use their militarized assault weapons...................
