I don't expect this one will be on the state of Hawaii website for long, so be quick.

But to buy a toy gun in Hawaii, it looks like you might need to pull out your Birth Certificate....

......Next thing you know, they'll be requiring proof of citizenship to run for president.

When squirt guns are outlawed, will only outlaws have squirt guns?

especially to those that carry guns and profess to be holier than thou

Barney Fife would be proud to show of his rubber band pistol to all the kids up and down the street

Seems to me that a greater benefit to society would be to ban sales of donuts and ho-hos to fat people.

hold on there buddy...you ban this fat guy from ho-hos, and we will be going to settle this outside!!!

Its all about altering social acceptance for the next generation. Kinda like teaching big bang theory and global warming theory to school age children as fact.

I was okay with putting fluorescence parts on the barrel or making the whole gun orange, green, yellow or whatever color instead of black.

But this is ridiculous.

back when I was a kid we used sticks.. they didn't shoot straight cause, almost every one claimed ya missed them.. but they got us by..

so now that plastic toy guns are banned will kids turn back to sticks?

will the end result be banning trees?

I have four questions that rarely get answered: Yeah? And? So? What? So some kids can't pretend they're blowing each others brains out. Personally I think this bill is a waste of time and money but still, if it happen, no huge loss.

Really? no loss what about to the company who makes the guns? They have just lost a whole state's sales.
So in essance the government has lost more tax revenue. How many people will be laid off and on to unemployment roles? Their kids on free lunch and medicare instead of their parents paying for lunch and having insurance.
What happens if other states do the same? So now you have even more losing their jobs.
Government receiving less and paying more out.......

How about stop legislating to protect us from ourselves? That is NOT the job of government.
it is not the job of government to destroy free enterprise and effect small business.

AND? SO? WHAT? makes you think you and your liberal ilk should have a right to limit the TOYS other peoples children can play with?

BTW Just what do you think those that enlist in the military, and use guns to protect your liberal right to speak freely, likely played with when they were growing up? :?

My guess it was toy guns!!

no it was sticks.. , then a 22

toys are just that toys.. a way for a child's imagination to explore and deal with situations they will encounter as an adult..

be it a truck, or a gun,, if your first experience with a gun is when you get hold of a real one. will you act out your imagination or realize it is now real and not a toy.. most with an active childhood will be beyond the toys of childhood and act like an adult.. leaving the ill equipped, sheltered child to still be a child in an adult world..

and we all understand how dangerous that can be..

The economy is SOOOO dependent on the toy gun revenue! How ever will America cope? Oh dear. Now that a toy gun company might go under, we might as well start learning Mandarin Chinese.
You guys are reading WAY to far into this ridiculous thing.

PS the toy company is probably Chinese anyway.

ATF Seizes 30 Toy Guns

Brad Martin and his son Ben sell Airsoft BB guns at their store in Cornelius, Oregon. A recent shipment of 30 of the toy guns were intercepted and seized by ATF agents when they entered the country at Tacoma, Washington.

The Martins said they buy their stock from Taiwan because the merchandise is less expensive. But the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives seized a shipment of 30 in October. That shipment is worth around $12,000 and the ATF is promising to destroy the entire shipment.

Special Agent Kelvin Crenshaw said the toys can be easily retro-fitted into dangerous weapons.

Martin disputes that the guns can be converted. Another reason for the seizure is that they were missing the orange tip mandated on imported toy guns.

The Martins said they’ve received shipments before from Taiwan that were missing the orange tips and were simply asked by customs agents to drive up to Tacoma and paint the tips orange themselves. They are wondering why it is an issue now.

yep,.. and criminals run loose.. while the ATF tracks down toy guns with out orange tips..

for those who think this issue isn't over-scrutinized..

From a GAO report
Also, CDC officials told us that the agency's National Violent Death
Reporting System (NVDRS)--being designed to collect information on all
violent deaths, including those involving toy guns was not fully operational yet,
For the most recent 10 years, the database showed no cases of deaths involving toy guns or situations where police officers mistook toy guns for real firearms. officials told us that these statistics on police shootings involving toy guns likely represent an undercounting of such incidents.

in other words.. don't believe the facts if they don't back up your agenda

the report continues on to injuries..
the
officials reported identifying 66 incidents involving toy guns. Of
these 66 incidents, the majority (62) involved individuals 0 to 19
years of age, and the remaining 4 incidents occurred among the over-19
age group.

According to the CDC officials, of the 62 incidents among individuals 0
to 19 years old, 57 incidents involved unintentional injuries, such as
choking on a toy gun part or being hit with toy gun or projectile part.
The other 5 incidents apparently were reported to the police as being
assaults and involved children hitting other children with a toy gun
while fighting or engaging in rough play. CDC officials described these
5 incidents as follows:

A 13-year old child was hit on head with a plastic gun.

A 12-year old female was hit on the elbow by a toy gun.

A 12-year old male was injured in a fight involving a toy gun.

A 7-year old was poked in the right eye with a plastic gun.

An individual was struck on the head by a toy gun.
Thankfully the didn't check into the report where I threw my plastic model car at my brother or there would be a serious push to ban all cars.

yes it might seem like some are reading to much into a ridiculous thing.

but for the government to ban a toy based on no evidence of it's harm.. is a step away from freedom and towards totalitarian rule.
