Hay Testing

Hi...I have been reading on this forum for a while and appreciate all of the experience and knowledge that is shared here. It's a great opportunity to see how other people do things and then I can take what I find useful and incorporate into what I do...so thanks to you all.

My question is where do those of you who test hay, get it tested? Is it a mail type service or do you take it somewhere local?

We send our customers hay tests to an independent lab that
has done us an outstanding job for years. They are very prompt
running the tests and getting the report back to you.

It is Stearns DHIA Labs in Sauk Center, MN.

I used to take mine to local ag college then started using TX A&M. Since your in Arizona, I would just check for some ag colleges or that extension offcie Justin mentioned.

As a "reformed" hay dealer I always used the state extension service first, and I would reccomend Ward Labs as a backup. The numbers aren't very different, unless you need some real technical info.
