Chris (Nigga Please) Rock has it backwards. Elected officials works for his constituents/voters!!
On Wednesday, comedian Chris Rock appeared on Capitol Hill with other celebrities to express support for Obama's gun control proposals. While there, he called the president America's "boss" and said that he and First Lady Michelle Obama are the country's parents.
"I am just here to support the President of the United States," he said. "President of the United States is our boss, but he is also... you know, the president and the first lady are kinda like the mom and the dad of the country. And when your dad says something you listen, and when you don't it will usually bite you on the a** later on. So, I’m here to support the President."
Rock made his comments while participating in a press conference with the pro-gun control groups Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Law Center to Prevent Violence.
Twitchy reported that a number of conservatives on Twitter schooled the comedian on Obama's role in American government.
Chris Rock: Obama 'boss' of America, president and Michelle Obama 'mom and dad'
"You obviously need a civics lesson. The President of the United States is employed by We The People. He is not the boss...WE are," tweeted "Freedom Petition."
"This is what's wrong with our society. This has dangerous implications," another person said.
"Chris Rock's statement that Pres is our boss is precisely what is wrong. Left believes WE work for the gov't.. they have it backwards," added another person.
"I have one Dad, Chris Rock. Obama is neither my father nor my boss. I don't have to "listen" to him," said "Modern Comments."
The Daily Caller said that Rock weighed in on the issue last month, saying that only those who have a mortgage ought to be able to own a gun.
A post at Fox Nation said that the comedian "flip-flopped" on the issue.
"You don’t need no gun control, you know what you need? We need some bullet control. Men, we need to control the bullets, that’s right. I think all bullets should cost five thousand dollars… five thousand dollars per bullet… You know why? Cause if a bullet cost five thousand dollars there would be no more innocent bystanders," Fox quoted Rock as saying.
According to the Daily Caller, Rock was "unavailable for interviews on the topic at the event and left before the question and answer portion of the news conference."
