The last couple of days have been beautiful--- near record high temps- with 75 yesterday- supposed to be about the same today- and then 60's on Monday...

But hold on to your hat after that- as the weather boys say the pattern is changing and we'll get moisture from the south and cold and wind from the north...And SNOW- possible Blizzard conditions... ( thats going to surprise them killdeers I've been seeing  )...
Manitoba this is supposed to move off your way about Thursday....

-------------------------------------

A LARGE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ALOFT MOVING INTO THE WESTERN
STATES...IS EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY AND DEVELOP INTO A MAJOR SPRING
STORM AS IT MOVES INTO EASTERN MONTANA MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
EXPECT PRECIPITATION TO BECOME WIDESPREAD AND SIGNIFICANT...RAIN
AT FIRST...BUT THEN TURNING TO SNOW BY WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS TO DEVELOP ACROSS PARTS
OF NORTHEAST MONTANA WEDNESDAY NIGHT...THE GREATEST THREAT BEING
IN DANIELS...SHERIDAN...RICHLAND...AND EASTERN ROOSEVELT COUNTIES
WHERE SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW COULD FALL WITH VERY WINDY CONDITIONS.

PERSONS PLANNING TRAVEL...OR ANY OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES...IN THE
WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY TIME PERIOD...AND RANCHERS WITH YOUNG
LIVESTOCK...SHOULD LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS ON THIS POSSIBLE
STORM.

Up here, our forecasted snow has been changed to rain, and from what they say, it'll be rain, not showers! Supposed to start sometime Tuesday and continue all day Wednesday. Hopefully, it'll just be rain and not turn into snow. Wet, heavy snow is hard on the calves, even at the age ours are.

That's the way it looks here too, Mike. We only had 1.6" in February and only four tenths so far this month. March is supposed to be one of our wettest months...

Thanks for the heads up. WE ened up with welll over an inch of rain last nite. Water is sure flowing today we were hauling th elast of our bales out of the valley and the water was getting deeper as the day went on. Got them all out and home now so it can flood down there all it wants.

We ended up with about 2/10ths last night....They're still saying this storm could have some good moisture altho I could do without the wind and snow....They kind of think the heavier moisture may stay south of us altho an inch is nothing to sneeze at.... I think the grass jumped 6" today on the river with the little rain we got-- nothing much green up north yet as the snow is still filling the coulees there....

1047 AM MDT MON MAR 26 2007

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST
MONTANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
EAST WINDS 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 55 MPH ARE EXPECTED LATE
TONIGHT AND TUESDAY FOR THE GLASGOW...FORT PECK AND OPHEIM AREAS.
THE REMAINDER OF NORTHEAST MONTANA WILL HAVE EAST WINDS 20 TO 30
MPH LATE TONIGHT AND TUESDAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY
A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTHERN ROCKIES AND HIGH
PLAINS STARTING TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY.

AT THIS TIME...IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THIS STORM SYSTEM COULD DELIVER
AN INCH OR MORE OF PRECIPITATION
TO NORTHEAST MONTANA...IN THE
FORM OF RAIN...SNOW OR A MIX OF THE TWO. IT ALSO HAS THE POTENTIAL
TO BRING SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOWFALL TO PORTIONS OF THE REGION.

THE STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING STRONG EASTERLY WINDS TO THE AREA ON
TUESDAY AND THEN NORTHWEST WINDS 20 TO 30 MPH AND HIGHER ON
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. IF THE SNOWFALL OCCURS...THESE WINDS WILL
CREATE BLOWING SNOW PROBLEMS AS WELL.

PERSONS PLANNING TRAVEL...OR ANY OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES...IN THE
WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY TIME PERIOD...AND RANCHERS WITH YOUNG
LIVESTOCK...SHOULD LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS ON THIS STORM.

Haymaker, my trip pictures are all of SNOW, SNOW and more SNOW.
Didn't think anyone would appreciate them now that spring is here.
The weather was terrible while I was there...so...no pictures.
