This afternoon about 5:30 there was a few little dark clouds floating around- then a couple claps of thunder- wind started howling- and it dumped on us for about 5 minutes...Got .35 of an inch in that 5 minutes

That storms been building ever since as it moves northeast and looks like it could be heading straight toward you....The radar shows some areas over by Wolf Point getting over 3 inchs...

we are getting some thunder but only a shower of rain. Still dark to the west.

Sure could use 3 inches. My hay might make a cut. Right now it is only grazing. :?

I think it "was" dry enough to start cutting here tomorrow- until this storm came out of nowhere....Now I think I'll check on the bulls and take the cows some mineral tomorrow....

Radar looks like there is still some heading toward you- Hope you get the 3 inches....

Has your dry land hay got tall enough to cut?

Here the Meadow brome and crested tops out at a foot and the Alfalfa from 4 to 8 inches.

Dryland is behind-- but the irrigated is looking nice - almost as nice as last years before it hailed out (Knock on wood)-  Alfalfa is up there nice and in about 1/4 bloom when I checked it last week- but these 85 degree days will get that going... Grass hay be ready when we get the alfalfa done - brome and garrison foxtail is up there 2 1/2- 3 foot tall... We got a shot of irrigation water on everything- just before it started raining May 27th- and so its grown good since....

Everything is a week or so late because of the cool weather, especially the dryland-- but my son said there are several cutting irrigated fields up and down the river.....

Keep your eyes on the sky today.
The storms that hit you yesterday built here and moved to you.
Got a big thunderhead building to the east of us as I type this, just saw it and thought to give you a heads up.
I would say it was south of Chinook and building just east of the Bear Paw Mountains. Got some more popping up south of us.

Those clouds looked pretty wicked later this afternoon- but it had pretty well petered out by the time it got here about 6PM- and we just ended up with about an hour of gentle showers- which gave me about .1 of an inch..... :D

Clouds moved in this morning and it started raining-- perfect excuse to take in a Bud Williams "stressfree" cattle handling seminar...Rained all morning and we picked up another 1/2 an inch.... :D
