The heifer calves have been weaned a week. Due to lack of rain and grass growth we took them from their mothers early and are feeding them distillers until we ship them in October.

Today while over in the calves I noticed quite a few flies even after the frost. We do fly control. Anyone else having quite a few flies on their cattle?

Don't know what you are using for fly control, but I will remind everyone that IGR works on HORN FLIES. Not face flies or stable flies.
Horn flies are the ones that their heads point DOWN while they are on the cattle.

If your cattle aren't bunching, your fly control is working.
We'll never get rid of all the flies...DARN IT!! :x
