Crow calls for limit on loo paper

The shows include a short set from Sheryl Crow and film clips
Singer Sheryl Crow has said a ban on using too much toilet paper should be introduced to help the environment.
Crow has suggested using "only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required".

The 45-year-old, who made the comments on her website, has just toured the US on a biodiesel-powered bus to raise awareness about climate change.

She teamed up with environmental activist Laurie David for the shows.

The pair targeted 11 university campuses to persuade students to help combat the world's environmental problems.

I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting

Sheryl Crow
"I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming," Crow wrote.

"Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating.

"I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting."

The tour ended on Sunday at the George Washington University in Washington DC, where Crow performed with Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Carole King.

Laurie David's husband, Seinfeld creator Larry David, also appeared.

Crow has also commented on her website about how she thinks paper napkins "represent the height of wastefulness".

She has designed a clothing line with what she calls a "dining sleeve".

The sleeve is detachable and can be replaced with another "dining sleeve" after the diner has used it to wipe his or her mouth.

The shows involved a short set by the singer, a talk by David and segments of Al Gore's environmental film An Inconvenient Truth.

Heard them talking on Midnight truckers network the other night about Cheryl Crow making a big deal about using Bio-diesel buses to help save the planet.

They pointed out how little she knew about emissions and saving the planet. That the bio-diesel buses did not have less admissions and in reality they probably are worse due to the process of making the bio-diesel.

They also asked why she was not making a real stand and driving a Prius around to the concerts, if she really cared about saving the planet.

The Scotchmen had figured out how to just use one square of toilet paper a long time ago.

For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, it is hard to explain. It is more a show and tell type of deal. :)

In the Philippines they use what they call a tabo. Essentially a dipper that you fill with water and let it run down your back to your crack and wash the Klingons with water. Great if you appreciate the "moist feeling down there all day"!

When I am there I am leery to shake anyone's hand, and the locals don't eat with the same hand they wash their backside with!

Maybe Sheryl would like it best if we all went back to the days of the outhouse and the Monkey Ward catalog?

That is because most of the Phillippines is Muslim and it's part of their culture NOT to use the same hand for ' sanitary' use & then eating!

A few years back I proposed to the State Legislature (that was in an argument over what could be included in a sales tax as luxuries and what was necessities) to throw out the property tax, the liquor tax, the tobacco tax, and the income tax and replace it all with a salestax on toilet paper-- which is not an absolute necessity (still have corncobs, straw, short ends of the stick, and catalogs), but a widely used luxury....A nickel per roll tax would have replaced all current state taxes and raised a large amount of additional income for the state- while working to save the environment and make these greenies happy....

But then I was told it would never work and would be ruled unconstitutional because it would be ruled discriminatory against women since they need it twice as many times as men.. :(

Koo Koo...you EVER been there?

RP is 98% Roman Catholic. The only times you hear about Muslims over there is when they have kidnapped a Kano or set off bombs.

And you accuse others about making broad sweeping generalizations...

Must have been in Mindinao. There IS a significant Muslim population there, and that is where the trouble generally is.

Along with the Catholics and the Muslims, there are also Jehova's Witnesses there, United Methodists, Baptists, Iglesia Ni Christo's, and on and on. Over 7,000 islands dictates that not all will be any one religion, but your statement of "most of the Philippines is Muslim" is entirely false, Koo Koo.

Go with Sheryl, and then they can tell you "pwet mo mabaho!"

The 45-year-old, who made the comments on her website, has just toured the US on a biodiesel-powered bus

had she stayed home and "saved" the bio-diesel used on the trip,..I could see her point...

in todays world of TV ,...Internet,...radio ect ....why travel if your point is to "reduce"...green house gases and save the planet?

I bet if she launched a youtube chat or some other web based forum she would have "reached" more the hopping in a Fuel guzzling luxury bus and traveling around burning fuel to make herself feel good.

That is because most of the Phillippines is Muslim

Maybe the Phillippines is Muslim but the Philippines is not,...

The Philippines is one of only two majority Roman Catholic countries in Asia . About 90% of Filipinos are Christians, where 81% belong to the Roman Catholic Church, and the 9% composed of Protestant denominations,

Approximately 5% of Filipinos are Muslims,[35] and are locally known as "Moros",

Having been there myself,on several occasions,I am confused that anyone "who claims" to have been to the Philippines would make such a glaring mistake?

KolanuRaven
Next question?

How can some one whom claims to be so educated and well traveled as your self, be so stupid?

Maybe Sheryl Crow needs a new nickname....like Itchy, Rashy, or maybe Crusty or Stinky. No wonder that bicycler guy dumped her.

, every time I show how increadibly stupid you are you "resort" to that.....

I never claimed to ranch in New jersey....

but again even you making the accusation shows how stupid you really are....

there are actually quite a few cattle here..and actually alot of Farm land....but again your statement shows your ignorance of other areas...maybe you should get out a little and see the world before you "judge" others....for your closed minded comments show a lack of understanding and education.
