How did your sale go last Saturday?

BCR

We had a blizzard 16" of snow and darn cold ended up selling/giving away some very good bull's and did'nt sell 1/2 of them.So now I don't know what to do with them I'm not going to give them away so I may just run them over and sell some 2 year olds if I can't get them sold for a decent price. We have TB in our lovely state now so our breeding stock sales are limited until it gets resolved partially.I could test the whole works cows and bulls then move them out of state but being this late in the year that's not very practical.I picked a rotten year to go into this but they say you need to pay your dues in the seedstock business and I payed some now.Thinking on a private treaty sale in 2 weeks but that will take a little time to set up.

Here's some of the sale bulls. We did'nt clip them just their belly hairs and combed out the remaining manure never washed any of them.

Bummed to hear that. You got some very nice stock, sounds like everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Murphy's Law was in full force. Hang in there. A private treaty at breeding time sounds like a good idea, even an offering for bulls this fall for fall calving breeding season. Seedstock is a brutal business and as you say, you got to pay your dues, and what are the chances you'd have a blizzard the last Saturday of April!

Maybe you can offer a Springtime Special on stock trailers. With each trailer purchase, the buyer gets a free bull. :)

The plan was to quit building trailers but I guess thats out of the question now. With the price of steel there won't be any freebies this year.

Sorry to hear that Denny. I bet people will come looking for them if you put out some local advertising.

We lost two bulls on the semen test and had to go find some. Luckily there were some a few miles from here still.

Your bulls look good and will find new homes soon hopefully.
