We are getting a winter event. Not much snow but the wind chill will be very bad. yes the temps are in F so I really dont want to convert them to C cuz they are cold enough as they are.
Fun is going to work tomorrow morning.......

MAIN IMPACT: WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES WITH SOME LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE FORECAST ACROSS THE PANHANDLES.

THE COMBINATION OF THE SNOW AND STRONG NORTH WINDS WILL PRODUCE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW...AND NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES.

* WIND CHILL VALUES: WIND CHILLS WILL FALL TO 10 BELOW TO AROUND 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING. WIND CHILLS WILL ONLY REBOUND TO 5 BELOW TO 15 DEGREES BELOW ZERO TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THEY WILL THEN PLUMMET TO 15 BELOW TO 35 DEGREES BELOW ZERO TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING

Yer late MsSage. We've had all of that here since Saturday night and those to the north of us have had it longer. The school district called with a district wide message earlier this morning saying that all of the counties schools are closed. You should be used to this though. The coldest night that I've ever had in my life was spent at a gas station 40 miles outside of Amarillo. A friend and I were driving to a welding job once. Actually I was sleeping and he was driving. He didn't pay attention and let us run to low on fuel. He pulled into a station that was closed and we didn't have the gas to get back to the last fuel stop or make it to the next one. Holy heck it was cold. We covered up with everything we could find. If that station had opened one minute later, we'd have been spoonin'. Temp wise it might not be 40 below, but a person would swear they were in the artic at times.

Come on BB2 admit it you just wanted to cuddle under those big old Texas skies. When you get cold and start to feel warm again is when trouble is starting-I've had that a few times hunting. It's -38F here right now so things are a bit crisp-it's funny it can be that cold and cattle will buck and play if it's a bright sunny day.

Sounds like a person up there might be able to make some extra cash puttin' Crown Royal bags on the bulls so they don't freeze their nuts off.

Or fitting dentures on the guys who fit the crown royal bags. I've seen more frozen nuts on bulls down in the south of us from wind then up here from cold.

After reading the post by MsSage, do ya wanna head on down to Palo Duro Canyon? It might not be too bad down in the bottom. That's probably the only place on the high plains where the wind isn't blowing right now.
