The paper has been full of announcements and proclamations about financial help for agriculture. Well we got a cheque this week. I ran intomy neighbor and I bet him my cheque was smaller-he farms 2,000 or so acres and we have 200 and some cows. well his was a grand total of $214 and mine rolled in at a cool $133. They might of just sent us both a lump of coal lol.

Don't doubt it a bit.
I got $4 per head for disaster aid (drought) last year.
Found out later that it took more money in admininstrative costs to distribute the checks than we actually got.
If we ran our businesses like governments are run, we'd all be starving.

Mike I am surprised by the way you talk on here that you would even accept a goverment hand out....But then to also complain about how little it was, shocked me even more.....Funny how somethings work around here...

NN,the point of this thread was our Government announing to the public the huge amount of money being givin to the cattleman, then they recieve a pitance IF they recieve anything. Next uninformed non-cattlemen complain about ALL the money the cattleman recieved
And its taxable, then after you get the money, the government taxed you on it,then they ASK you for it back because they OVERPAID you
So next time you and your friends are sitting around having a brew and talking about the Billions-Millions that the cattleman recieved SHARE this piece of info
