they "found" votes in Wisconsin that weren't for the more liberal candidate!

In a political bombshell, the clerk in a Republican stronghold released new vote totals adding a net total of 7,582 new votes in the tight state Supreme Court race to Justice David Prosser, swinging the race significantly in his favor.

Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus said Thursday that she failed to save in her computer and consequently report 14,315 votes cast in the city of Brookfield, omitting them entirely in an unofficial tally released after Tuesday’s election. The new totals give 10,859 more votes to Prosser from Brookfield and 3,456 more to Kloppenburg, she said. Smaller discrepancies turned up in two other communities as well.

I’m still waiting to see a final score on this one, but it’s starting to look like Judge Prosser actually ended up winning in Wisconsin.

I haven’t been able to find a statement by either Prosser or Kloppenburg, but this has got to be a devastating blow to the unions should it hold. Essentially, Scott Walker’s union bill should survive and we can all move on to other portions of the overall union fight nationwide.

Should these results stick… that is.

I wouldn't say they found votes. The votes were cast and counted the whole time, they just weren't in the spreadsheet that had the unofficial tally that they reported to Associated Press.

Protecting themselves against Democratic dirty tricks, maybe?

• Eliciting endless exchanges of “Really?” across the state, Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus admitted in a press conference on Thursday that she forgot to save the vote totals from the city of Brookfield. The new votes were enough to push Justice Dave Prosser from being 200 votes behind to 7,500 ahead of his opponent JoAnne Kloppenburg. This complicates any recount efforts, since Prosser’s new lead means no automatic recount, which means Kloppenburg will have to pay $5 per ward to be recounted

if it is a referendum on Walker's agenda if a dem wins by less the 200 votes,

is it still a referendum on Walker if the republican wins by more the 7500 votes?

These votes were reported more locally on election night.

On election night, the City of Brookfield reported that Prosser received 10,859 votes from city residents, or 76 percent of the vote, compared to the 3,456 votes cast for challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg. The Brookfield Patch reported those numbers in a story with chart posted about 12:30 a.m. election night.

[Brookfield City Clerk Kristine] Schmidt said her office also posted the results on the city's web site before going home on election night.

The Liberal candidate has already gave her acceptance speech so you can bet the Dems and the Labor leaders will tear that State apart before they allow the Republicans to claim a win. Voters be damned they will somehow get the results tossed even if it takes Obama and Holder to do it.
