What's happening over your way? Any of that rain getting you?

None here at my place. :???: But it did rain where we are baling last night about 25 miles southwest. Someone said it flooded in town last night.

Between breakdowns and that little shower it was not a good day.

I think John (Alabama) might have gotten some of it. Hope so anyway.

The smoke from those Fl. and Ga. fires was very thick here yesterday morning, instead of cloudy, it was "Smokey".

What does rain look like as it has been so long since seeing any, not sure how long the grass will hold out for the cows if we don't some soon. Looked decent this spring but it is going south fast and the wind does not let up, not sure if there is going much hay to put up either as the alfalfa is burning bad. Hope someone is getting rain

Katrina, I did some map studies and found that the geographic center of this drought is located directly over Mike's ranch!

Yes Mike: I got 0.85 inches in that freek shower last week. It is about gone now though. It greened the grass up but very little grouth. I am glad I did not sell you that ryegrass in cut in the spring. I have 10 of 26 rolls left to make it until April of 2008. The hay field is getting bald spots in it. Yes, the grass is just dead in spots. I need you to come over and look at it. Prehapes you can tell me why.
How are the watermellons dooing?

Whatever it is you guys have done....seems us in Ga did the same thing without knowing it!!!!!

We got a 10 minute shower last week. Hardly settled the dust.

We're about 14" below where we should be. I can now notice that the creek looks lower.

I can tell you without coming over there. It called "DROUGHT"!

Melons are doing fine now that we are having warm nights.

Got a son who lives on Lake Lanier up fairly close to you. They have him on all sorts of water restrictions.

We're somewhere close to your deficits. My little home weather station shows I says I am 16.5 inches deficit for the year. Add that to the over 20 inches we wound up with last year, leaves us over 3 feet short since this time last year.

Grass is dead and dying and the peanuts and cotton aren't going to make it.

I've got some yard grass planted this past fall and the only way it's staying alive is I'm watering it from an old ' likker' spring .

The old man that used it said it would never go dry...well I guess we'll see about that cause I'm running it over 10 hrs a day and have been for about a month now and it's still bubbling!

Yeah, Hall Co is now considered part of Metro Atl and falls under all of their regulations and they have tons of those as of late!!!
