Yep, we got 183 blacks and char x calves at Ft. Pierre last week and 256 charX calves at Philip this week. The last calves are up in Turkey Track Bar's area at a grow yard till we have room in November. Last Saturday was a fun day when we got the first bunch home. Of course they had to find an area to sneak under the guard rail fence. My duty was to stand in a mud, possibly some manure mixed in with it, spot to keep those little buggers in till we shored up the area. When I got done my legs looked like I had black socks dried on. The one post about people's gears made me laugh thinking I should have taken a picture of my legs and feet that day. It has been a long time since we have had 400-500 wts. they are so cute.

I just might have to sneak down and check out your calves...you know make sure JM is taking good care of them! Plus there might be some little squealers down there for me to play with. And, JM wants to breed his male Corgi to our Corgi dog Holly...fun to tease him as another neighbor, neighbor's Corgi that is, has first rights.

Oh, yes, gotta love the curiousness and mischievousness of those 500 pound calves. Ours are all weaned and we have them in really good corrals, but every morning there are a couple out. I swear at that age/weight they have the genetics of rodents...can get through anything and go anywhere!!!

Cheers---

TTB
