Here is some of my "artwork" (to use the term loosely), from thirty years ago. As you can see, I never made a career of it, but it was fun while it lasted. :)

Was that a "SELF" portrait ?

Your fascination with mules goes Way back. :D

I'm not too proud of my mule since he killed a calf a couple weeks ago. He is now in confinement, although not solitary since he is sharing a bale ring with a horse and two bulls.

Come to think of it, I'm not too proud of myself either. I ran over and killed a perfectly good calf with the feed pickup today. Sometimes I wish someone would fire me.

Peach is gonna put you in solitary with the mule.

That really hurts when something like running over a calf happens. I hate going out to feed those pairs when they are so young. :x

LOL I was thinkin..."That's back before Saddletramp started wearin glasses"

But then I seen the ears.......and knew Soapweed and his mule facination. Could it be a self portrait from years ago?

We had a friend keepin a donkey in our pasture a few years ago. One of our first calf heifers....well....it's hard to explain...so I'll try.

The fella that the donkey belonged to. Had a girl friend. That just absolutely fell in "love" with this heifer. She was sooooo worried about her. So when it came almost time for her to calve...she wanted to know if they could load her up and take her home so that she could be watched real close. LOL I told her I didnt care. So they loaded her up. A few days later....he was gettin up to go to work, and looked out and seen her in labor. Ended up havin to pull the calf. So I guess it was a good thing that we let them do that. Cuz we aren't normally out in the pasture at 6 am in the mornin. Anyway...back to the donkey. They loaded the cow and calf up to bring back home. Got to the pasture, opened the gate, mama and baby step out. And that Donkey ran up there and grabbed that calf by the scruff of it's neck and off he ran....all the way across the creek to the back of the pasture. Off the fella went, truck trailer and all..across the creek chasin the donkey down. Finally the donkey let go of the calf, and he pasture roped the donkey, and loaded him up and took him strait to the salebarn.

Mr. FH had a gelding when he still lived at home the would kill sheep. Just pick them up and toss them and break their neck. He wasn't very popular with Mr. FH's dad. I wonder why he would do that? We never figured it out. He wasn't aggressive with any other animal.

Guess he was making sure he wasn't gonna be no sheepherder's hoss!!! :p

I liked you drawing, Soapweed. It has a distinct look and I think your style would have been very popular.
