Hey Buddy,
got to tell you about my treasures of the day. The first saddle maker that I had help me with leather work, about 40 years ago, recently passed away. His wife who died 4 years ago was a very close friend of my mothers, no kids, no close relatives, so my mom is the executor of the estate. This saddle maker knew he was going to die soon and he started giving stuff away. Now that it is all said and done, mom decided that I should have whatever is left of the leather tools. MCG is in the hobby room arranging things right now. there are things I have no idea about. There are needles from sewing machines by the box, we have no machine. There is about 50 border/edge stamps, some small leaves and such that are the very old tools before Tandy, more mallets, a million sewing needles and a bunch of silversmith tools, which he was taking up the last few years. I guess I have to stay in the house and scratch leather for the next few days just to see what my prizes are. I may have to share them with someone a little more knowledgeable with sewing machines. Christmas in July, who would of thunk it :!:

This reminds me..................at a yard sale, garage sale, flea market or somethin, I don't remember, I bought a wooden box, that was for leather tools, which I haven't seen in a good while.....wonder what I done with it? I never put my tools in it. They are still in the plastic tool box I put em in when I started. Great.....now I"m gonna be on a hunt for somethin I aint seen in a while LOL

Weeellll, it looks like I'm going to have to come visit so as to help you identify all these great treasures!

Of couse, there will be many that I won't be able to identify so I'll just take them with me and find someone way smarter than me(not too hard to do   ) and when I find out what they are, then you can come visit and and take them back home with you and I will tell you what they are. What a plan, huh? :D
