If I remember correctly, you have a fairly extensive Civil War reference. If you have a chance, I'm curious what it has to say about the family name "Payseur".

If mentioned, I assume it will be in connection with the railroads, but curious if it is mentioned with any other major industry or holdings.

Not family. Supposedly, that name traces it's origination to the French revolution and the linage of Marie Antionette- her child was smuggled out to England and assumed the name prior to being set up in North America by the King of England.

The family supposedly had a near monopoly of the rail system post Civil War- just hidden through shell companies. They were to have taken advantage of the post civil war forced sale of assets etc to do so.

Have seen some documentation that creates the plausibility of this being true, but nothing definitive yet.
