Hey Royals

they were good, but every team is beatable.... hold on to that memory because you wont see Nebraska that tough for a long long time.... big red is dead.

So says the Tater and Crypt Keeper fan.

Don't quit your day job....the ESECPN is canning 350 folks who probably understand sports just a bit more than some hater from BFE. The only position you might be qualified for with them is toilet cleaning.

Whew I'm glad that's over. Game 7 might not have been so kind. I thought we were hosed when rain came. Just knew Davis would be out of the game. I'm trying to think back but I'm not sure I remember a better reliever than him. .9 era for this season. Last year he was just as good. I've always thought he was better than holland. Anyway high drama at the end it's nice to have the best reliever in the game cause we would have lost other wise. Toronto can really swing the bats. Not sure what they were doing even messing with Bautista in the 8th. The guy already hit one that dang near went out of that huge ball park then almost had another home run.

Funny how these things play out. The Jays brought RA Dickey over at a fairly high trade/cost in talent. For RA and his personal, knuckleball specialist but light-hitting catcher, Josh Thole, they traded top prospect pitcher Noah Syndergaard and Travis D'Arnaud, a promising rookie catcher and a couple of others.

So guess who has had a great year with the Mets - yup, both those guys. The big Viking, Thor, as they call Syndergaard, posted a 9 - 7 record this season with a 3.24 ERA. He is 1 -1 in the post season. RA wishes for such post-season numbers.

D'Arnaud had a very solid regular season with really impressive offensive production in only 67 games. He's shown great value behind the plate and with the bat in the post season already.

So,while I would have liked to see a Mets/Jays series, I certainly have some guys to watch in this setup as well.

As for the Royals, I don't exactly cheer when Rios strikes out - cuz that's not nice - but it would be easy to do. For all the talent he has, he never seemed to pull his weight in his years as a Blue Jay, often dogging it in the outfield and acting like he was taking BP at the plate instead of bearing down and trying to get on base.

He was a real sourpuss in Toronto and caused a major ruckus for the Jays when he cussed out some fans who asked for his autograph. You just don't do that without creating a really bad image with the people who are paying his keep. Few were sorry to see him go and if I remember correctly, a few Scotsmen even offered to help pay his ticket out of town...

So, my cheer remains - "Go, Mets, GO!"

For the Royals, it's always about the team and the fans. The team has a special relationship with the city and the fans that harkens back to a simpler time.

Although former Royal Billy Butler left the team during the off season, I think he still has ties to KC through a charitable foundation. Last I heard, the Butler family still considers KC "home".

And you can't forget many people's favorite Royal, mine included....ol' pine tar himself, George Brett.

Not looking good for the Mets. I was glad that KC was able to get those Mets fans to shut the hell up last night. Last 2 outs of the game were fantastic! When I saw the pic of three of the biggest Mets fans this morning, it made it even easier to hate them: Tim Robbins, Michael Moore, and Bill Maher. With fans like that they deserve to lose.
