 the articles are funny..

WILDWOOD, N.J. — Mayor Ernest Troiano Jr. thinks he’s found a way to put one of this Jersey shore resort town’s problems behind it. Wildwood is ready to ban overly saggy pants, no ifs, ands or butts.

But Mayor Ernest Troiano Jr. said the issue is simple.

"This is just adding a little bit of decency to our town," he said. "It's amazing -- and this is a pun -- how far decency has fallen through the cracks."

The law passed unanimously, and no one spoke against it. Several residents strongly supported the law.

The issue has cropped up — or rather, drooped down — in towns across the country. Authorities in suburbs of New Orleans, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit and Miami and Jacksonville, Fla., are among those who have passed laws banning overly droopy pants.

Crack-down’ in NJ town bans saggy pants, too-short skirts, other fashion flubs
The Wildwood, NJ, town council has voted unanimously to ban from its boardwalk pants worn more than three inches below the hips. ‘Sagging has become very offensive

The law, set to take effect next month, establishes fines of $25 to $200 for sagging offenses, with 40 hours of community service another possible penalty. It also requires people to wear shirts after 8 p.m. and footwear at all times, and allows cops to cite people for wearing too-short skirts and blouses that show too much cleavage.

I seldom go up on the boardwalk anymore.. ... saggy pants is the least of their problems..

Ernie means well, but they seldom enforce any of the local "quality of life" ordinances he comes up with..

I think he comes up with a new law every summer to get a bit of press and act like he is trying to clean up the town..

last year it was closing party houses... we had at least 5 on this street alone.. and are now down to 6 or 7 ... :?
