Hey you LIBS

Since the Unions donated, campaigned and threatened to get Obama elected should they not have to support his signature bills? Why then are they being given a waiver to opt out of Obamacare? Is this not a sign of a FAILED BILL when your most avid supporters want no part of it?

Gee over 5 hours and 43 views and not one lib cares to or can explain why Obama's avid supporters are getting waivers so they can opt out of his signature award winning earth shattering Obamacare bill.

I guess I'll have to bump it to give them more time to come up with a plausible excuse for this

If you don't want to or can't explain that one can you please tell me since you seem to think Obama is the smartest man on the earth Will he be smart enough to heed the warning the voters gave him on Nov 2 and change the direction he is taking the US in. Or is he to stupid to see the warning signs and continue down the road to another butt kicking in 2012?

If not either of those issues maybe you can explain how the Dems think the voters are going to believe the Dems learned their lesson when they voted the same polarizing dingbat back in as leader of the MINORITY? Does anyone really believe "WE WON WE RIGHT THE BILLS" Pelosi will work with the Republicans on anything after they kicked her to the curb as Speaker of the House and took her private jet away.

Take your pick and dazzle me with your explanations  DEFEND AWAY  .

What no lib willing to defend Obama's administration. :? Hard to defend this crap isn't it?
OH WELL No big surprise my guess is the effects of the 2008 koolaid must be wearing off or the cold water tossed in your face on Nov 2 woke you up. Either way I can't blame you for not wanting to defend Obama any more I just didn't understand how you could defend him in the first place.

Now Tam, were not those waivers given to organizations that already had very affordable insurance plans for their members as opposed to those employers that are reaming their employees?

Where did spotless Palins grandson get insurance? How about Palin when she was a kid?

Just giving you a bone to chew. :p

This is not about Palin I'm sure she buys her own family's health insurance

This is about 111 WAIVER to opt out being handed out to unions and the likes that put Obama in the position to stuff this crap down Americans throat and you think this is OK. If the rest of Americans have to live with this crap bill then the Unions should have to too!!!!!!!

Personally I think the Congress, Senate and White House Administration should be the first ones to have to abide by this bill but that will never happen will it.

Sure it is! Downplay Obama, push Palin.
In an interview with conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt, Palin said: “We’ve gone though periods of our life here with paying out-of-pocket for health coverage until Todd and I both landed a couple of good union jobs.”

Did the 111 have affordable health plans?

Why should they have to be subject to his health plan? It one of the perks they get for being elected. You don't believe other party politicians get outlandish perks?

Just wonderinjg Liveoak Are there only 111 unions and companies in the US that have "affordable" health plans? :?
I thought Obama said there was only 30 million of the 300 million Americans without insurance.
Is Obama and the HHS going to give everyone that has their own affordable health care plan a waiver so they can opt out of Obamacare? If not then this is just another Obama pay off for his supporters, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. And if his most avid supporters do not want to be involved with his signature bill then what makes you think anyone should have to be forced into it?

McDonald's, 29 other firms get health care coverage waivers

Nearly a million workers won't get a consumer protection in the U.S. health reform law meant to cap insurance costs because the government exempted their employers.

The United Agricultural Benefit Trust, the California-based cooperative that offers coverage to farm workers, was allowed to exempt 17,347 people.

The regulations would have hit some insurance plans for young adults in the universal coverage program run by the state of Massachusetts. The program, enacted in 2006, has a plan for individuals ages 18 to 26 who can't get coverage through work, covering about 5,000 people.

The biggest single waiver, for 351,000 people, was for the United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund, a New York union providing coverage for city teachers

yep,..I am sure they have good sough coverage,..
McDonald’s offers a ’mini-med’ plan, also known as a limited benefit plan. These plans are in some ways the opposite of insurance: they pay for routine health care expenses but not catastrophic ones. Benefits are often capped at $25,000 to $50,000 per year. The McDonald’s plans have even lower caps, in the range of $2,000 to $10,000. As a result they are frequently castigated as a bad deal by policy experts

well two thousand is enough to cover a trip to urgent care... ain't it?

this sure wasn't what I would call a better plan... just another plan...

I gather there were only 111 that had a squeaky wheel! What percentage of U.S. President never gave out perks to his most outstanding donors? You honestly think Palin would be any different in that regard? She just wants to prance under the stars like so many of the others before her did.

Well Steve, maybe there's more to the story? Your right, $2k is nothing for major med but it's still more that I have!

I don't know if McDonalds does their own insuring but I doubt it. They probably hire a major carrier like most other corporations which brings with it a lot of admin costs. In addition, most McD's are "owner operated" so, the benifits offered at each could be different.

"The restaurant chain is at odds over the law's stipulation that "mini-med" insurance plans, which provide limited benefits, spend at least 80% of premium revenue on medical care, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a company memo." (http://articles.latimes.com/2010/sep/29/business/la-fi-mcdonalds-20100930 )

80% sounds real good to the employee but is it really doable for the employer?

Personally, I would like to see the Obamacare plan rescinded rather than make sure everyone abides by it. Since the plan was accepted, insurance rates have skyrocketed. Even that portion of the insurance premium that employees now must pay at their place of employment is barely affordable!

That can happen- contact youe STATE representatives and ask them to nullify obamacare. If enough states get on board it will happen. But we can't be silent and wait and do nothing we must become active- informing our family, friends and neighbors, educating them, getting them involved too! This isn't a done deal and we don't have to take it. States have nullified lots of federal bills over the years. it is one of the protections built into our Constitution.

while we have short memories... does any one remember why they started to "over haul the health care of our nation"?

and a few thought provoking questions for the supporters of the original IDEA...

if they overhauled your car and it ended up costing alot more and still didn't run any better.. would you be satisfied... I doubt it..

and if the secondary goal was to reform heath care... why is the bill snow so in need of being reformed???
