Very enlightening. I've always noticed that Israel is just a little speck in all the Middle East, yet hated and blamed for all its troubles by the Arab/Muslim world. Israel has made nearly all of the capitulations for Peace, has given up territory and in my feet on the ground observation, graciously accomodates Arabs/Muslims. Israel must- out of the need to survive- be a hornet's nest, that is, to exist not as a threat but a force to be reckoned with when prodded. In my humble opinion.

It's been a long time since I studied world history. I wish I had gotten more out of it. I don't believe Isreal was even mentioned back then. When, why, and who forced the Jews to leave Israel and become dispersed in so many countries? Mostly they were not welcome where they went. Their religion held them together but this just set them farther apart from the rest. Their goal was to someday return to their homeland. In 1946 this area was set aside for them to return. How that happened is also unclear to me. What was expected to happen to the people who had settled that land after the Jews had left?
