Yes, that was an old elm. It was dying, so I had it cut down. I have two big hackberries in the back yard. One was damaged in a storm a few years ago and needs to come down, but no one really wants to do it. It will eventually come down on its own, hopefully without any other damage.
The cats are all older cats. The youngest will be 10 in March and the oldest one, "Max", (the one in the foreground), will be 14. Max thinks he is special and doesn't like to eat with the ordinary cats. One of the younger ones, "Annie" the other black and white one, likes to be with Max, and he puts up with her.
