Just some photos I took on my iPod throughout the semester:

Some fog in the valley outside of town:

A cool pattern from the lookout balcany:

The next few were taken today...decided to take a break from studying. They are the view from the trail beside my apartment:

Student Residence is the big building at the top right:

I really love this photo of the Thompson River, the water was so calm:

I'm glad winter is over. :D

Great pictures!

I'll bet there are times when the Thompson doesn't look so calm!

Thanks for showing us what your "sometimes" home area looks like.

This section is fairly calm. If it weren't so cold, it would be the funnest river to float down in the summer. It gets much less calm the closer it gets to the Fraser River confluence though.

Some new pictures of the river. It has been a crappy summer so far. There has been maybe three days where it has been clear blue skies.

The sun is trying to come out:

If only for a moment:

But beware the yella bellies(They often have little ones running around and don't care how big you are when protecting them.):

Went on a quick trip to Paul Lake today after work...it wasn't raining. :D

A couple of shots of the lake:

My favourite part, we found some "Sxusem"...soap berries. Normally, we go to the lake while the moms, grandmas, and aunts pick...but they are home so I had to get them myself.

Sadly, no. I'm on my own. :( We make a juice but store them the same way. I'll find out if I am a skilled preserver sometime in the winter. Haha.

If I do it right, I could sell it for up to $75 for 500 ml...but it usually becomes a gift whenever I need to learn something new.

Haha. U prob have never had it made well before. It should take like a very puffy marshmallow. ;)

There is still a green sheen on the hills. :O Way too much rain. The river has only gone down about 2 feet. No sandy beaches.

Some more pics from the last two weeks:

These ones are from two weeks ago on a trip for Sxusem.

A bowl of Sxusem (Indian Icecream):

This is more like it!

This is actually a pretty steep road to climb - Shuswap Lake is just around the corner on the right of these mountains:

Found a waterfall on the way:

We were glad to not have turned up missing. :D

Around here we would call that red-petaled, yellow-hearted flower a columbine.

Beautiful pictures, for sure. You seem to be able to capture some pretty nice images.

Thanks.

The saskatoons here in the valley were on time and plentiful. We don't eat them though because of the city pollution. The ones a bit higher up though were still needing some sunshine and had no flavour so we didn't bother at all. Haven't seen the Choke cherries though. The birds usually eat those before they are ripe.
Last year there were no huckleberries or sxusem. This year there are alot. Unfortunately I don't have the time or space to preserve enough to last me til next year in my little apartment. haha.

I'm really happy with the images i'm able to capture on this camera. It's just a Sony Cybershot with intelligent auto detection. I only bought it because I didn't have the discipline to save up for the DSLR I wanted. :p
