I've got one of those Worksavers Larrry pictured. Pretty good outfit. I'm not feeding a lot of hay anymore, so it would probably be for sale if anybody's interested!

ive been seeing these things on here for a while. Why do you unroll the hay to feed? down here we just stick out about 3 or 4 bales and le teh cows eat on that till they are gone.

The reason I unroll is so that all the cows can have access to the same kind of feed at the same time. That way the boss cows don't get all the candy while the less aggressive ones have to eat the poorer quality hay or only the straw.

I don't allow our cows free choice of good hay so there is always competition.

P.S. - they don't clean up so well if I unroll on bare ground or especially ground that isn't frozen. And I always unroll on a fresh strip of snow each day.

So get out there while you have a bit of snow and try it!! :lol: :lol:
