Home Prices

I am confused about all this talk of the Need for Home prices to get back up. One Minute we have politicians talking about getting home prices back up but then they want to get more people to own homes.

Why is bringing down medical cost good but when home prices come down it is bad? Seems to me with housing prices coming down that would be a good thing shouldn't that help poor people to be able to afford them? Why do we want to make bad loans to buy higher priced homes but we do not want to see home prices be lower so more can afford them? :?

$180 thousand for a 30 year old travel trailer on a 1/8th acre lot in California is completely insane. How can anyone want to "get back to that?"

When home prices are inflated, the owner has more equity and can borrow more....thus making the banks more money.....................

So we will not get back to all that infomercial nonsense on getting rich in real estate with "no money down".

Folks that dude on television who bought a "half price home" and then defaulted on 7 home loans out of convenience just burns me to no end. He ought to be in prison in my opinion. Pelosi had him on as a poster child.

What happens to these folks when they go to Vegas and lose?

Good point! Home equity loans are as big of a part of all this credit mess as anything!

It blows my mind when you hear people are letting homes go back because they went down in value. As long as you still make enough money to pay the payment what does it matter what some third party rates your homes value at? I bought my home to live in and could care less how its value fluctuates, my home is not a stock on the market!

What you're seeing is just another contradiction by the liberals. They claim to want affordable housing, and then take actions that artificially inflate home prices. Stupid piled on top of stupid.
