Finding these makes the hours of knee deep snow you wade through worth while. An 8x7 with 161 inches of boneage-he looks like a 20-21 inch spread deer so he B/C material if a guy can catch up to him next year.

Awesome stuff! They're dropping their horns here already, too. The Mulies seem to be holding onto them though. Seen a pile of bucks in the last week, all still with their horns. The whitetails are really losin' 'em though.

where would one start to look? I have a lot of acres of forest behind my farm, some of it dry, some of it swampy. We only have white tail in this part of the country. Moose rarely venture this far south, only seen one standing in my pond in my lifetime. Right now all the snow is melted (for now) and probably a good time to go looking.

Combine and tractor tires make the best detectors, the bigger and more expensive the tire, the faster you'll find them.

How can you be sure that this set of horns are both from the same deer? I've seen bucks walkin round with one side gone. Shed before the other side. I know not all deer are cemetrical (sp) but how would you know?

Sometims it is just knowing the deer in your area and sometimes they are nice and symetrical or drop withing 100 yards of each other.. Sometimes it is a guess to be honest lol..

Yep, tire tractros find them good, I found a few while feeding a couple years ago. Nothing bg, jsut some from 2.5 year olds that would probably have scored in the 100's.. Siimple 4X4's..

How dare you question the horn sensai jersey lilly lol. Actually big sheds usually drop pretty close together most times. After looking a few thousand of them you just know what to look for. Nothing funner than finding a set of sheds than hunting that specific deer. I've managed to tag out on a buck I had sheds from a few times. Those sheds are worth a few hundred bucks that sara is holding.
