I love accents!
I took an older feller back to New Mexico, years ago. We spent the night in Carrizozo. We walked into a bar to eat a bite and there was a younger couple in there. Of course, we got to visitin'. Finally the lady asked me if I was from SD. I told her I was and then had to ask how she knew. She said she could tell by my accent! I asked how she knew I was from SD and not Neb, Wyo or Mont. She told me that we in SD had a different accent than in those other states. I thought that was real funny.
I just love accents. Pm me you phone number Lilly, so I can call you up and hear you talk Texican.
I know that people around Fargo and up in ND talk a little different than we do. Also my yearling guy in Iowa says a few words different than we do. He doesn't talk about getting a pop to drink, he say's so-dy. As in, "Lets go get a so-dy, to quench our thirst."
Only he wouldn't say quench.
And I sure never mean to make feel bad about their accents. Did I mention, I just love accents?
