How Illegal Immigration is Hurting Black America

During the 2007-2008 presidential primaries, Barrack Obama said that he didn’t buy into the notion that illegal immigrants were hurting black employment. That was when he was trying to receive the favor of those who supported Amnesty, and wanted to give drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. All those potential Democratic voters were indicing . But know, black writers, many of who backed Obama’s position on racial grounds, are saying that “potential Democratic voters” are taking jobs away from the blacks.

The Root.com features an article by Cord Jefferson “How Illegal Immigration is Hurting Black America”, which laments the impact illegal aliens have on the black community. Jefferson, cited Brooking institute senior fellow Audrey Singer, who agrees this situation is clearly hurting blacks. She also says that illegal immigration disadvantages “people at the lower end of the pay spectrum.”

The "gray falcon" speaks the words of the village idiot. It's rare to see any race take on the jobs that the illegal hispanic performs here in the U.S. I don't support illegal immigration one bit, but this nonsense about displacing legal workers in the U.S., is gibberish.

You've never seen illegals on a construction project?

I have to disagree with you. I have seen many jobs be given to illegals because they will work for less and no benifits. I dont know what part of texas your in but up here it happens alot. Most of the illlegals also get welfare and food stamps. Yes they are using bought SS cards.

Maybe I need to go read the greyfalcon and see what the fuss is all about.

funny... real funny... I did a couple demolitions and a tench last month.. contractor was impressed with our local crew.. but said the cost would kill him in the long run..

the main issue with illegals is cost.. they are cheaper... if he paid me $15 an hour per man.. it would cost him just as much in payroll taxes ect..

when he pays an illegal or under the table. it is just $15..

and over the last storm.. I saw alot of black and white workers out shoveling... but no Mexicans (hispanics)? why.. cash talks on the informal work and they couldn't compete..
so when you add up hardwork, experience, and cost... the only real edge hispanics have is cost..

and in the world of business.. cost cutting seems to trump the other two..

hard to find one with out mexicans.. and it is getting a bit nasty up here as more "American" are sitting idle..

I did a demotion and some trench work last month.. it only took me an hour to round up an American crew.. on the second job a mexican showed up looking for work.. I was told.. bluntly.. that if he worked they all walked..

when work was plentiful, ,I didn't hear much bitching about the mexicans.. but now the tensions are rising as work drys up..

I agree with Liveoak. The problem is the only way to make a point is to be racist so I aint going there.

What really makes my blood boil is to see all hispanics stereo-typed. The rest of America seems to forget "Mexicans" fought along side my ancestors at both the Alamo and San Jacinto. Some have been here for centuries. There's nothing worse than 3rd, 4th, or 5th generation white Americans degrading those that have been here 10 or more generations.

Ellis Island wasn't closed all that long ago. This country was expanding and thriving with huge (enormous) immigration. What happened that changed all that? Ask yourself. I have an answer.

I can't help but respect people who are willing to work and not ask for a hand-out. Especially people willing to do work no one else will partake in - no matter the race.

We don't have a United Hispanic College fund or any of the other such programs - and they're not asking for them.

to honestly solve a problem, all factors must be discussed.. and if race is a factor.. then it will never get solved, until an honest discussion can be held...

and if a certain race is considered lazy. and wants to many benefits before it can work.. and the government is handing the benefits out. then that should be discussed.. (but it won't as race has become to touchy of a subject)

BTW.. one of the (black) guys I work with often can get a legal crew together for a few days.. but as soon as the cash is owed, the crew falls apart.. it doesn't take long..

We are talking ILLEGALS here, not hispanics or anyone
else here legally. There is a big difference.

I've seen hard-working mexicans, hard-working ILLEGAL Mexicans too.
The horse ranches in the south would suffer without them. I have seen
them work hard, very, very hard. I admire thier work ethic. What I
don't admire, is them getting benefits in this country that they are
not entitled to, because they are here ILLEGALLY. Race has nothing
to do with it.
