I simply pointed out that Steve seemed quite concerned with "war experience" yet

Actually I have no concern if a former service member has war service or not......

The title of the thread and the biased way dis posted the article implied that the vets were war vets...of the Gulf war.......not completly true.....so I answered the claim,,,it also went towards past claims by Dis that since I served in the Navy I did'nt know have any more to say then the average person.....

yet when it is a Democrat vet,,,they should be above those serving now.....

Sorry you misunderstood the comment was not only directed at disagreeable's biased way of presenting opinions,, but her anti-military attitude.......

Bush has no "war experience"?

Many of our presidents had War experience....

Even some who were officers showed they failed to listen to any of thier lessons,,,,,
sorry but Jimmy's failures come to mind quickest.....

If it were commendable to have no ability to lead then he would have achieved the highest military acclaim....

Add in Clintons pull out of Somolia,,,and Osama took it as our inablity to project our military might......thus he started taking US on at our shores...

But the comparison was not if they had experiance it was a direct answer towards Disagreeable's biased post......

because no matter how much or how little experiance one has in uniform does not "prove" they can be good political leaders....just as haveing little actual combat distract from them being able to lead.....

Which is a mistake Democrats seem to be making since the day they set sights on Kerry.........

Clinton...Clinton...Clinton...talk about beating a subject to death.!!! He's NOT the Prez anymore  , get it. As much as I wish he were...he's not! Oh...it rained today...blame Clinton!

A bird crapped on my car...must've been that semen slinging Clinton!!

You can't blame Clinton for all the mistakes Bush has made. If Bush is such a " manly-man"...why does everyone blame Clinton for the screw ups made by Bush? I hardly doubt that Bill Clinton sits around on a daily basis and thinks, " ok..how can I get Bush in trouble today???"

I guess I did misunderstand.
I took but Winters has less "war" experience then myself, and both have less time in service then I, (which you already discounted as not counting) so your support for them is only because they appear to not support conservative agendas.......

As meaning "war experience" is somehow pertinent. Which is why I made a simple comment that Kerry had war experience while Bush had none.

I didn't realize this was supposed to be some sort of personal slam against the original poster.

"Wife", don't let them get to you. It's always been about Clinton here. Since Bush is such a total loser as President, they have to bash Clinton to make themselves feel better. I actually laugh out loud every time I see them hold Clinton or Carter up as a standard for Bush! :D As you can see they try to change the subject time after time because they have no defense for facts. Just ignore their ploys and keep on keeping on. You don't have to be rude to post on this board, but if you aren't a Bush Groupie you must have thick skin. I'm enjoying your posts. This board has had somewhat of a turn around this year. When I started posting last year, it was almost all Bush Groupies, but today there are several who don't support him.

I think that's a reflection of the country in general.
Two years ago, conservatives were for Bush and many moderates as well. Liberals weren't. It was a fairly simple dividing line.

Today there has been a shift. Not only are most of those moderates falling away, but so are a great many conservatives.
I'm not sure that if the election were re-done today that Bush wouldn't still win (afterall, Kerry is rather uninspiring), but I think it would be tighter.

So far as a thick skin, you must keep in mind, this board is representative of my actual life. I'm surrounded by people just like this in my real life. Most of whom are fairly respectful of a difference of opinion, many who are not, but almost all of whom are *extremely* conservative.

Fortunately, most people still have the good manners not to talk politics in public, so boards like this are an outlet. A chance to share opinions without offending people you have to see on a day to day basis.

True story:
My husband is a cowboy which means we've moved a lot. Moving means a new voter registration with the local courthouse.
I registered to vote for the election of '98 as a Democrat that year (sometimes I'm Independat, sometimes I'm Democrat, depending upon my thinking that year). One of the other gals on the ranch was in charge of party affiliation paperwork and when I went down to vote that year, she high-fived me.
"Woohoo! Now there's 8 of us."

Eight? Yeah. Eight in the entire county. and you have to keep in mind, in ranch country, even the Democrats are pretty conservative.

I'm enjoying your posts. Your hide will thicken if you hang around long enough because on this board your either a Bush Groupie or you're a liberal, commie, ignorant, unAmerican, anti-military, unpatriotic, piece of XXX. I've been called them all and it hasn't hurt a bit. Hope to see you around often. Happy New Year.

You're right; it's much more fun to shove the facts in someone's face than just post them on the board.

So I hope everyone has a good new year and brings lots of stuff to this board that I can stuff back in their face! [/b]
