All of mine is done. The wife and I shopped together for the kids stuff, and I arranged hers over the phone. Gift certificates, gotta love 'em. I already picked her up some stocking stuffers a while back, and as for our folks, we spent this past weekend making tree ornaments, picture frames and decorations for them.

None yet, tommorow is the day I go out and brave the crowds. First year I've waited so long. To be honest I really don't feel like celebrating this year at all. Unfortunately my kid is just too cute not to go out and get him all kinds of stuff. You know the kind of stuff kids love socks, underwear, toothbrushes  (just joking the brat is getting an XBOX 360).

I hope mine is done-- I told my wife I'd buy her an astrostart for her new pickup for her combined birthday (yesterday) and Christmas present...Then I gave one of my daughters $200 when she was on her way to Chase Hawks to pick up some little things/smelly, frilly women things for little presents to stick under the tree for Granma..... Bought my son a tow-rope (so I can get my good one back  ) and a portable battery charger/jump starter--I'll give each of the girls $200 and tell them to buy something (I can't buy for wimmen   )....Then I'll go to the water hole for the gatherings of all the guys in town while Granma continues to buy out the town for the grandkids  .... Done shopping

judith before you purchas the xbox you may want to look into buying used games for it....I took my nephew to Block Bros to rent a few game they wanted $14.00 each just to rent....If cost is not a prob then sorry to step in ....also to buy most here is close to 80's dollars each....cant imagine ten games will cost you about 800 ollars....not sure what Wii or ps3 games rent for but may be worth a call...Kids go through these games so fast now ....but you do get a dvd player and a place to down load music into ...I just was just floored at the rental costs...

As a man around Christmas sometimes we are made to feel like a wallet and a holder of bags full of gifts we can smell but have no clue what its called..we are sweating because we were told it was cold out and we were not wearing just a light jacket. Our car is parked two miles away after being told if we only knew how to look ahead for parking spots we would be in the store by now...We look forward to bad chinese food in the mall food fair....we stop to hear the choir because someone enjoys it and her arms are not carrying anything..We see that one single guy getting help from the cute sales rep(our al bundy moment)..we pass the sports stores because our mission is to get clothes for the kids in the oversized family we married into....you look to see but you already know all the couches are going to be full that are for sale anywhere near a tv that has your game on..you are called a dilly dallier.. you try all day to keep control of your own wallet by at least putting it back into YOUR own pocket after each sale. Until early afternoon when putting down all the bags becomes to cumbersome to regrab each time you pay for something that you just give in and say keep it you will need it next door i am sure...You complain your arms are tired but instead of going home she says "take the gifts to the car and meet her back at Old Navy",and what is really sad is,you know that it is not the rum she is talking about...finially you get home and she calls her mom and says she got only half her shopping done today..and tommorrow lots is on sale that she liked today.you stop bent over letting the last trip of bags from the car sit on the floor...At this point you realize God has a sense of humour and you are it.........Merry Christmas

Hey nonothing,
Thanks for the tip :) Have you checked out EB games? I'm not sure what part of BC you are in but they are all over down here. Kind of like a video second hand or swap store. You can purchase new or second hand. They also do trades etc. Good place to shop if you happen to need to shop for the computer set.

OT,you sound like greg,I'm sure he keeps a list of things the kids borrow and buys them so he can get his back...which I appreciate,so I don't have to listen to him complain about if hes EVER going to get it back.

Ummm Judith,I'm pretty sure I heard one of those Xbox things aren't avaiable ANYWHERE.Thats what you get for waiting until the last minute

nonothing, you outdid yourself with that post!

Very funny!

Mr. FH is a terrible shopper for Christmas. One year when we were
guiding hunters in the fall and I was doing a lot of cooking for them,
I wanted a certain Fabareware grill for cooking pancakes for a bunch.
I told him at where one was, what it looked like, how much it cost
and that was what I wanted for Christmas. I did everything but
buy the darn thing.

Sure enough, he waited til Christmas Eve and when he went to
get it, it was gone.

Sooo, I just went in the day after Christmas and ordered another
one. I think he thought he won, because now he doesn't do
Christmas shopping at all.

Like once was enough.

Looks like your wife and mine share the same birthday, December 18th. My wife's dad was a veterinarian, and he had a good friend who was a medical doctor. The doctor had a pedigreed dog that needed a C-section at the same time that the veterinarian's wife was needing medical attention to deliver a baby. They just traded services. Since Christmas was so close, the baby girl was named Carol.

Thats neat!! Mine always says she wishes her's wasn't so close to Christmas- as I usually just buy her one big gift to cover both... Not really a cheapskate-- Just not a shopper...

A belated Happy Birthday to Peach Blossom....

we got 99% of our shopping done on the way to Gussie's game in Big Timber on Tuesday....had not bought a danged thing til then!!! Course, the things the kids really wanted were outta the question....no PS3 here!! Kids here need to be outside....not wasting time playing some $300-$400 machine...besides, priced the games and almost had to have CPR!! They will really like what they have under the tree, anyway!! Hubby is worse then the kids when it comes to asking "what's in that box with my name on it??"...big danged kid, anyway!!!

Sure would be nice to let your kids outside here :) We have too many very real fears. One is that some pervert is going to grab your kid off the street. Your kids are not even safe playing in your own back yard  And the other is that they get washed away in the floods. I grew up outside and wasnt allowed back in until supper :) Not that it was possible to get me back in, having to much fun. Big city living in a unique mixture of paranoia and driving you child around to whatever indoor facility you can find. 3 more months till count down :) Rural living here I come :)

Good point!! I forgot what it was like growing up outside Portland Oregon where we ate dinner and slept with bars on the windows and all the doors locked...heck, we could not even play in our own backyard without ONE or both parents there to watch us!!! How very sad!! :???:
