How stupid are you?

In 2007 and 2008, when Barack Obama was a candidate for President, he made a lot of grand speeches about cutting the deficit and reining in spending. Some of you fell for that and voted for him, in spite of the fact that many of us tried to warn you that he was a big liberal and that he had no track record to prove that he was serious about cutting spending.

Then as soon as he was in office, he made huge increases in spending and added trillions to our national debt. We told you that would happen. Remember?

Now that he is running for President again, he comes out with a speech and talks about cutting the deficit and reining in spending. But only because he realizes how popular it is at this time. And he also realizes that he is sucking hind tit after the Republicans have come out with a plan for some large spending cuts.

It's very obvious to most of us that the only reason he feigns an interest in reducing our deficits is for political purposes. He wants to be reelected and assumes that he can fool you again - since it was so easy the first time around.

So...the question I have for some of you that supported him the first time:

How stupid are you?

The worst part of the fiscal/budget fight going on is that we're going to crash and burn regardless of what happens. It's inevitable. If 100% of all income in the U.S. went towards balancing the budget with no cut in spending, nevermind paying off debt........................... there wouldn't be enough to balance.

When the Republicans deny more crazy-azz borrowing money from the Fed, and the dollar falls, they will get the blame for the crash.

"STUPID" is the wrong word. There must be another term that fits better?

part of me thinks a crash will be a good thing. even the board, and start over....make things worth thier ACTUAL value, it will be a hard life to live with out the things we are used to, but it will benifit us in the long run. forget investing in gold...sell your gold, buy guns and ammo.

Did you not recall the change that he promised that had so many Americans excited? (Not saying he shook things up.)

McCain had issues from his age to his running mate and then some.

Perhaps if Obama had a better candidate from the Republicans he wouldn't have gotten in.

***Not that I voted for him. However, the majority of the Americans did vote him in.

As I look back on that election I understand how/why Obama was elected. The country is usually worn out by 8 years of almost any president, and Bush was no exception. 9/11 and the following wars had taken their toll. The nation was divided, tired of the bickering, tired of the out of control spending, and was ready for change....not more McSame as he was so often called here by one now-absent member.

But the hope/change/intellectual professor/great orator/war ender/Gitmo closer/uniter of the nation/charmer of foreign nations/lowerer of sea levels/planet healer etc etc etc all seems like so much laughable BS now, doesn't it?

I've always trusted in the American people to make the right decision when it comes to Presidential elections. Sometimes the nation makes an error.

I have confidence they're going to right this wrong.

Yes, I recall that. Turned out to be a big lie, didn't it? So we've established the fact that he's a liar. The only problem seems to be in getting some people to admit it.

McCain certainly wasn't my favorite candidate. But he was damn sure better than the alternative. And those issues that you were so concerned about - his age, the inexperience of his running mate in case he died, etc. - those have proven to be worries over nothing, haven't they? Because John McCain is still alive and kicking and Sarah Palin has proven to be a quick-study that is actually more in tune with world affairs than Barack Obama.

I don't think so. I think the public was sick of Republicans. So sick that they didn't properly vet the Democrat candidate. But that's their own fault. It is NOT the fault of Republicans that many people didn't take seriously their responsibility as voters.

The problem with McCain is that the liberal media hyped him up. He was weak at best. After he got the nomination the media took their gloves off. Anyway the media made McCain better than he was and Palin worse than she was.
But the big thing is they made obama into something he wasn't and could never be.

I would like to say that people have learned from the last few years, but I think there are too many uninformed individuals with the right to vote.

This is a Howard Stern clip performed in Harlem before the last election. I don't knows how many people were interviewed to get this video. Just the fact that people have the right to vote but are not being responsible enough to inform themselves is so concerning.

This is not isolated to Harlem or to Obama supporters. There was one guy interviewed (not included in this clip) that supported McCain but was okay that Biden was his VP.

Texan I have to disagree with you. There has been change in our country just not for the better.
I don't think we disagree on that.

Shocking. :p
While most others have dismissed you as an expendable waste of effort, I knew that if I gave you enough time you would come around.
