You can't help but feel sorry for her as her whole family line has been one of disaster.

Her GMa got snake bit and died and orphaned her Mom, Juanita.

Juanita herself got snake bit as a bottle baby on a back foot and we doctored and doctored on it for months.....she almost lost her whole foot from the dew claws down and always walked 'flat footed' after that.

Then when Juanita had Junie....she crippled herself by pushing so hard she pulled her hip out of socket with no hope of recovery, so it left little Junie an orphan at 4 months old.

Now, little JunieBug is up to bat herself.

It was -12F last night but going to +28F today with a low for tonight of +25F and a high tomorrow of +48F with the 7 day forcast calling for rain and mid 50s for the duration - - - -I feed all the mixed hay they will eat and when it is forcast for cold I put out rye hay ( looks like straw with the head still on ) and they seem to not even notice the cold - - - calving is not for 3 weeks so it should be great weather by then ( fingers crossed )

With all the snow we have gotten the last 10 days 50s and rain will really make life interesting - - - - It is amasing how muddy it can get and stay!

It has stayed about 10 to `12 below normal all winter - - -- only two snows to speak of but both were in the last 10 days - - - -so much for global warming - - -- I guess it is rare to have snow in London and Paris

You'll have to get a Tuli bull for your heifers Kola, nice small calves and a good dose of heterosis! Pleased the calf was safe, wishing you a good calving season from here on.

Oh...no....he'll be showing up at a bull sale....prob near you in a few months!!!!

I take it you don't own a knife.

We sell bulls....not hamburger

Besides, why should I cut a good bull calf just because 2 bovines prior to him got snake bit?

So, he was a bit heavier than he should have been.....I'll bet you're a bit heavier than you should be also..........

The snake bites are irrelevant, but aren't two generations of calving difficulties behind him a big deal to you?

There's not 2 gen's of problems. Go back and read.

The GMa dies of snake bite......and the momma popped out her hip calving and that's not uncommon nor a ' trait'......

I'm happy with the way my deal works....and seems a lot of other folks are also...so if it ain't broke...don't fix it!!
