Hubby's Dream Job

Ranchy

The folks who bought my mom's cafe and turned it into the soap shop, sold their ranch.......all rough country, lots of horseback time, just what Hubby was hoping for!

He called the new owners night before last, and asked if they need any help......."Monk" (yep, that's what they call him) said as soon as they take over and get started, Hubby has a job there if he still wants it.......they "close" on it tomorrow, so maybe next week, Hubby'll be on the payroll! He's the nephew of some folks that were our neighbors for years and years........small world.

Best part, it's not 50 miles from here! He could probably go "camp" out and I can stay here, with my job, and my "kids"............ Best of both worlds, fer shore!

Monk is one heck of a cowboy. And that Alma Mesa is one fine piece of country. I didn't think them flatlanders would last long in that country.

Jinglebob, thanks! I still hope to get up there in your neck, maybe vacationing or something, one of these days. Al was looking forward to going ridin' and ropin' with ya.....

Nicky, it kinda fell through. My semi-superstitious hubby felt it was a "sign" when every time we'd decide for sure, to go, that something went wrong.....maybe this is the job he was meant to get? Who knows, certainly not me! :?

Aztumbleweed, LOL!!!!!!! This is freaky...........

I grew up down there, and have never (to my knowledge, anyway) been over there, I'm kinda looking forward to going down. My dad was up here this morning, and I was asking him about it, he didn't know a lot about it, though.......

Our place was across the river on the next mountain range, so we never had any reason to be over there.......

Aw, thanks, Ranchwife! I appreciate it, and I know Hubby will, too! And the more I think about it, the more I think probably you and Hubby were right about why we couldn't ever make it to SD........:cboy:

As a wise old Mexican said, "Everything happens for the best". I've taken a lot of comfort in that statement, over the years. :)

Don't ever forget...For every door that closes, a window opens up That is my personal version. People just sometimes have their hearts set on the door that just shut and won't look for the window that just opened. We are living proof about doors closing and windows of opportunity opening up! I'm kinda semi-superstitious also. If I have something planned, and nothing goes right, I bag it, I don't ever force it

Hubby got a call on Friday morning, some folks down by T or C need a ranch manager!!!!!!!! We went down on Saturday, and looked things over. It's a great set-up, good working corrals at each of the 3 places there are houses.....at headquarters very nice ones with a loading chute.

This is the first time I've ever been on a job hunt, where the hired help had their choice of 3 houses! Yep, bet if we do go, we'll be in the first one we looked at, though........it has this huge bathtub, that Hubby was ga-ga over......

So, the "search" continues.........who knows where we may end up?

Good luck to you, ranchy. One has to remember there is NO PERFECT
job or place.

Hanta, I fully agree. If there are too many roadblocks, forget it.
When things are meant to be, they just fall right in to place.
We too have experience this over and over again.
