Yesterday, I worked over at the best friend's, sorting and hauling cattle. He runs a mixed breed herd of cows, Black Angus, Hereford, Charolais, Red Angus, Gelbveih, and Simmental. Little bit of everything. I've always watched myself around the blacks and Chars, never worried about the rest. Everything went fine till the second load of cows we were loading. I was pushing cows up the chute with his Dad, and one didn't want to go, so I lightly tapped her on the ass with the papers I had in my hand to get her attention to move up with the rest. CRRAACK! That was her back foot connecting with my leg! My leg went completely numb for at least five minutes as a wave of pain came over me, and I fought to keep standing. My leg swelled instantly, and today I have a HUGE purple bruise on my leg that's about a little bigger then the size of her hoof. Lucky for me she didn't break my leg. Lucky for her she didn't break my leg. Come fall, when it's time to bring them home, I'll be gunnin' for her! And the part that p***** me off about thw whole deal is, SHE WAS A HEREFORD!!!!
