our school has adopted a 7 days absent policy per semester. if you go over the 7 you get flunked with out a doctors note or congressional passage of a bill in your honor.
with this flu, two of ours missed 6 days, we get a friendly letter explaining the deal, and I am all set to go to the next board meeting.
the reason they adopted this is due to a family who is a bunch of skinheads...they let their kids skip all the time, and the principle is afraid of them! so they use a board policy as a backbone replacement for our principle.
most parents are running their kids to the doctor for every little runny nose, we make our kids lay on the couch and tough it out. less medicine is better health!
a school is a building built by taxpayers, funded by taxes, to EDUCATE the kids of taxpayers.... but in their mind, it is a place where they control everything, and try to spend more of our money.
