I am appalled

I also posted this under the ranch session. I am sick and tired of the rich tromping on those of us who make a living from the land. they need us, we don't need them.

Appalled

What has happened to this once great country, where the rights of the few were protected by the many?
Because of the wants of a few who have enough money and wherewithal to get legislation enacted against the wishes of many, we now have overgrown forests that are a tinderbox waiting for large, uncontrollable and devastating fires.
We have landowners, livestock owners and innocent children being threatened by large predatory wolves. Legally bought and paid for land, bought by hardworking people, is being confiscated and taken away by our very own government!
Ranchers who live anywhere near where there is a growing population of reintroduced wolf packs, now have to get permission from the government to protect their children and assets from a creature who was driven off and eradicted by the first people to come to this country.
People who have legally bought and paid for the land they built their homes on are being threatened and in many cases, had their houses burnt down, because of policies that have let our public forests become overgrown with stunted tees that would be better used as lumber.
People who have legally bought and paid for their land are having that land confiscated because some distant and wealthy people want to keep it from being used for producing a livelihood, as they already are wealthy in their own right and they might want to visit it one day.
Does wealth equal power? When did we decide that those who have more money should get to make all the rules?
Should hardworking, taxpaying citizens have to endure the suffering and anguish that so many are going through, so that a spoiled few, with more money, can have their way?
I believe it’s high time that we the people who live on the land and use if for the benefit of all, should have a say.
I believe it’s time for a revolution. Not with guns as weapons, but with words of wisdom and the media behind us. We need to get our story out and show those who would deny our very existence that we will band together and not give up without a fight.
“If we do not hang together, we will surely hang separately”.

What I do not understand is many times on here the media is called liberal. Also alot of times i am told by posters here that each man should take care of his own and not rely on goverment...So i ask why do people get upset with those that buy the land from those that sell it.After all that is the mantra here, you work for what you get..Now i read this and someone is asking for the media to get invovled?

I aree a man should be able to protect his family and livelyhood from nature if at all possible. If the goverment introduces a wolf to an area where wolfs resided once before then how can one argue that decision if the goverment owns the land,or the land owner agrees to it..That being said if live stock were attacked or a wolf was to close to home then i say hunt it down...A wolf must learn to hunt its pray not feast on cattle like a buffet...and if it crosses that line then yes i agree hunt it down...If its on your land you should at least be allowed to tranqualize it and have it delt and paid for by those that do not keep them on the land provided..

To tell a man what he can do or not do on his own land is wrong,if a wolf wanders off goverment land it can be shot or at least taken away from that mans land one would hope...If a forest on a man's land is gutted thats his choice for his reasons.Goes the same for the man who wants to not touch his land and let it grow.....

So is it call on the media or not?either way no man has the right to take away what another has built, unless of course he sells to the highest bidder...which is both the sellers and the buyers right...If you really care fight those who sell their land rather then those who buy it...this is a republican site and as we all know,to the repub's its all about the money and power, people will always come second..

The media is liberal. Even Fox news' people vote 85% Democrat.

I mean that we, who live and work on the land, need to get the stories out and fight back at all the eco terrotists who are a few, funded by the many, who have no idea waht is really going on.

We need to take the media back.

We need to be heard.

We need to counter all the BS that the greenies and wolf loving wacko's, the people who want to let prairedogs take over so a few ferrets MAY survive, and we need to elect representitives who will do our bidding, instead of selling out to the highest bidder.

I think it's time to abandon the Repub's and Dem's and get some real people in who won't be bought or cater to "their party"!

And I fail to see why any business going on in the US is of very much concern to you. :?

Not that you can't voice your opinion, but after all, you don't even live here.

You could give them all some mice and rats to live in their homes. Maybe a bunch of ants and roaches too. Then perhaps the city folks would begin to understand.

Yes, I have thought of that. Matter of fact on a posting on here awhile back, while trying to get something across to a couple of fellows who live east of here, I suggested that they allow me and some friends to come camp in their yard and let us hunt their mice, trying to get it across what it is like for us as landowners to have them real nice folks who want to come out and relieve us of all them nasty creatures like, deer and antelope, once a year.

They never did seem to quite get it.

:???:

I guess we just need to fight fire with fire and staret promoting and doing as these groups have, like the Seirra Club, PETA and such.

I hate to stoop to that, but it might be the only way to win this fight. If we don't do something we will all be living in cities or working for the rich landowners.

Live free or die free. Seems I read that somewhere before.

It's just so sad, when you think of all the freedoms that we have lost in the past 50 years. :x

Oh I know well what you are saying. All you need to do is sit on my fence line opening day and see all the deer the "hunters" run onto me. I don't have to "hunt". I can just shoot deer. No looking. Not much different than shooting cows. Thank goodness it is not year round.

What is sad, when you are talking sad, is the ignorance of these well doers. They don't realize that they are making things worse all the way around. They don't live in the environment and don't have the knowledge or experiences. They are whims of some political person's agenda.

Possibly it just goes back to the majority rules.......

I don't believe the majority rules. I think the few filthy rich, rule.

Every person we send to the state capitol or the nations capitol is bought and paid for by these wealthy scum suckers, seems to me.

The scum sucking lawyers who work for these ignorant orginizations, tie up everything in courts and most things anymore are about CYA than common sense.

If those who make the laws had to live where they laws take effect, maybe it would help, but with their riches they can insulate themselves from most of the pains, they put others thru'.

When we can't cut trees and it is the cause of huge fires that burn peoples homes and property, something ain't right.

When a few want a large efficient predator realeased and then won't allow people to shoot them to protect themselves and property, something ain't right.

When a few want people kicked off from land they have lived on for generations, so the few can use it for a playground, while they despoil more land with their houses and crap, something ain't right.

I'm sick of it and those who are ruining this once great nation.

Now, if I can just get more people who agree with me to back me up, maybe we can do something about it.

First, throw all the bums out and start fresh. No more votes for anyone who is in political office.

Get laws to stop people from buying power.

That would be a start.

And whenever some yuppy, treehugging, wolf loving, enviromental terrorist idiot opens their mouth and starts spouting off, figure out a way to shut them up and prove their BS is BS. Quit lying down and letting others do what needs to be done. Get involved. Locally and nationally.

Elect people who stand for private property rights. Lets not let them take anymore land from us or send anymore predators on to our land.

If Ted Turner or anyone else makes a deal to buy land and not pay taxes because they will donate it to any form of government, make the government put it up for sale and keep it on the tax rolls. The government owns too much land now and thew worst stewards that thewre are. Just go look at the state and national parks.

Sorry, but I'm po'd and I've had enough.

This equates to big business.
Somehow, someway the ties between big business & elected officals has to be severed. As long as big business can buy politicans at will, the common man will not be heard and easily overuled. A majority of special interest groups are funded and/or supported by big business. Lobbiest for big business control which way most politicans see issues and subsequently implement bills that affect the course of this nation. Not until we find a way to get big business out of politics will the common man regain a voice in the dealings of this country.
For what its worth............

If you have ever been interviewed for an hour and 20 minutes, stammer once during the discussion, you can count on that 5 seconds being aired and nothing else.

27 years later the media wants to interview me and do a feature on what we have done with a situation here. We have heard from 3 different broadcasts. I have told them all to pound sand.

The people close to me know what's going on.

Hard to imagine our founding fathers intended on the Government being the biggest land owners of America. Kind of goes against their idea of less government.

I sent this piece out to all on my email list asking them to reply and give me their thoughts. so far, this is the best one I've gotten back.

"Amen! But you will never get the media behind you. They are 90% committed liberals. If they do a story on these subjects, they will only villify the honest, hardworking ranchers and farmers. Or else they portray them as ignorant oafs who can't possibly be trusted with their money or property. They are elitist snobs who work to destroy anybody who disagrees with their environmentalist, socialsit views.

They have turned the country against the war effort by protraying our military as torturers and murders. They refuse to call terrorists, terrorists. They often refer to them as "freedom fighters" and we are the occupiers. It's disgusting.

The only voice we have in the media is talk radio and to some extent, the Fox News Channel. The Democrats in Congress are talking about bringing back the Fairness Doctrine which will limit people on the radio like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. They can't stand it that Conservatives dominate talk radio. They have tried to compete with their ridiculous Air America, which bombed. Since they can't compete in the free market of ideas, they want to shut it down. They're not satisfied with their complete and utter dominance of the mainstream media. Any voice of desent must be crushed.

It's tough to mobilize the majority of voting citizens to make a huge outcry like they did over the amnesty bill. Not enough of the population is affected by the stupid environmentalists' laws...yet. They don't realize that every time a citizen's property is taken away for a "greater" cause, it only makes these acitivists hungry for more. The anti-smoking laws are a good example. I don't smoke and I don't like to be around smoking, but it disgusts me that local governments can tell a private business owner that he can't allow his customers to smoke if they want to. These whacko health Nazis are going after the fast food industry now. They think it's up to them to save us from our unhealthy ways. I don't know about you, but I don't need some bureaucrat to tell me what I should be eating.

This micromanaging of our lives is turning ordinary, law-abiding citizens into law-breakers. The people who saved their houses from fires, broke the law by clearing the brush and dead trees around their own property! They broke the law to save their legally owned homes. If they shoot a wolf that is killing their cattle or sheep (their source of income) or threatening their pets or children, they are breaking the law! In England it has been illiegal for some time now for a property owner to protect himself or his property in his own home with a gun. A man who had had his home borken into repeatedly, finally confronted the thieves and shot and injured one. He is serving several years in prison for his "crime" and was sued successfully by the would-be thief! And the people of England have accepted this travesty of justice! I find it mind-boggling. That is why I belong to and contribute to the NRA. That is one grass-roots organization that is able to fight back for our rights.

The Internet is a tool we can use, also. Email your representatives in Washington, send letters to the newspapers and TV news outlets and encourage everyone you know to do likewise. It worked with the amnesty bill so it can work for other encroachments on our rights and our wallets. Unfortunately, most Conservatives are by nature not political activists. We are too busy taking care of our jobs and families and paying the taxes that these greedy micro-managers want to get their hands on. We don't have time to go protest and we are polite. We don't want to scream and yell and fight. We're going to have to start making more of an effort to slap these Liberals down, though. Forget about civility and trying to work with them. It never works. They lie all the time about themselves and what they want to do, but nobody in the media or the political arena wants to come right out and call them liars. I don't get it. They are like vampires who scream and writhe while they shrivel into dust when sunlight is shown on them. God Bless Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and all the other Conservatives on Talk Radio for opening the curtains and letting in all that glorious light the Liberals so abhor. Forget about compassion and a new tone, I want my representatives to start kicking ass and taking names.

Now, to quote another great conservative, Forrest Gump, That's all I have to say about that.....for now."

Welll, it might be a good place to start getting our "elected reps" to heed our bidding with this war. The majority of American voters are against the war and want our troops home but they don't do that either.
