I HATE 30 Below!!!!

Temp was -30 this morning in the Valley--and I even prognosticated a while on feeding and doing chores hoping it would warm-and had a couple more cups of coffee-- but it wasn't warming a bit...
Got the first bunch of cows fed with no problem--but then busted 2 hydraulic hoses on the Besler trying to get bales out of a snowed in stack for the second bunch....
Temp stayed at about -20 all morning but has now warmed to a balmy -12 at 1 PM-- and I'm just finishing morning chores.....
Did I mention I hate winter when its 30 Below...

So, can we blame Obama now, or is it still Bush's fault? :???:  :)

Actually a lot of the blame was my own screwup-- but I suppose in your closed world way of thinking I shouldn't have an opinion on that either -eh :???:  SHHEEEEESSHHH

You know Oldtimer, you're complaining about -30 temps and you live in NE Montana? :???: :???: That'd be like a Floridian complainin' about too much sunshine!

Also, was you prognosticating, or procrastinating? :???:

Probably both procrastinating on going out- and prognosticating on if it was going to warm up....  In this temp- my mind works like everything else- slow...
Thing isn't so much it getting to 30 Below-- its just that this winter seems as tho its been at that temp ALL winter...

Actually it was pretty nice out there this morning, a little crisp but NO WIND.

The breeze picked up tonight as we finished up and it had a bite.

They say that wind is supposed to bring us in the warmer weather....30 miles away at the north place (which is higher elevation) when it was 18 Below here- it was 2 Above there-- and the mine in the Little Rockies was at 20 Above... Predicting 30+ Above by Friday--I'm ready for it....

Suppost to get to 43F here by Thursday, but its also suppost to be real windy. I'll have to find an excuse to go to town that day just to ride the ferry in the high winds... what a rush!! :D  ..... and watch the loaded logging truck's loads rock and sway from side to side.

OT,I dont see how you get anything done in that kinda weather, everything moves slower, slips farther and sticks harder when it is 30 around here, much less -30,I bet it dont take much of that for a man to want spring
good luck
PS I think your weather is moving in here tomorrow, highs in the 30's with sleet and rain.

It's not really cold until you can hear the dogs walking across the yard. :D :D :D :D

We had a minus 40 windchill this morning, and decided maybe we'll wait until Thursday when that better weather is supposed to show up to give the cows their scour vaccine. We didn't think they'd appreciate having Dectomax poured down their backs either!

One more week and it's February........ only three more months to spring.

What's worse, the cold here or the wind in Nebraska?

Cold AND the wind in Nebraska.

the cold doesn't stay year round, the wind in Nebraska?..... never ending!

About that Nebraska wind--we can't live with it, and we can't live without it. After the past couple days with no wind, our water supply tanks are getting low. We need a nice gentle breeze to turn the windmills.

I figured by now you would have rigged up one of those exercise bike-pumps for Peach to run in her spare time while you're off taking pictures.

the wind itself wouldn't be bad, but combine it with the sand in the teeth and eyes? I just don't miss it at all!!!!!!
