I just came across some really cool old Lincoln welders and I am looking for a mid to late 80's 1 ton cab and chassis 4x4. I'm planning on ptutting together one or two rig trucks and I want a gas engine, preferably big block. The ones I've looked at have all been junk. If you see something interesting let me know please. Thanks

Does an 81 Chevy 1 ton dually 4X4, w/ 4 speed, 3:73 rears, nearly new rear leaf springs, and a 454 with a Jensen flatbed trip your switch? It needs work, but it ain't total junk.

No, sorry. I've got an '81 already. I'm thinking more along the lines of an '86-'88. I've always been real partial to that style. I know I'm gonaa have to do some work on whatever I get. I'll have to post some pics of my uncles old '79 ford. I had been wanting it since I was a kid and finally was able to buy it from my cousins.

The cab on an 81 one ton would be the same as an 86. They had the "anteater" front end compared to the box type front end of the 73-80 models ( I had an 80 one ton, too). GM changed body styles on the trucks beginning with the 88 model year, but I believe in the one tons they kept the same cab (the 81-88 model year cab) through 90 or possibly even 91.
