what a morning. was supposed to drop a load of bulls in chinook this am and come back and meet banker this afternoon to start the year. got chores done and the bulls loaded and about 12 miles down the road and the transmission goes out of my pickup (it has almost 300k miles on it). so i start walking home and luckily a neighbor is hauling grain and gives me a lift. a few days ago my youngest brother comes home and takes my other pickup to move himself from bozeman to great falls so i have no way of getting my pickup and load of bulls home. but i do have a three point hitch i built to tow a trailer so i go to start the tractor and wouldn't you know the timer had shorted out and tractor won't start. so at this point i was flustered and a little thirsty so i thought i would cruize down to the fuel station and get a drink while the tractor warmed up. got my drink and my nerves calmed down and headed home when my cell phone rings with some fella from ID asking about cattle. we were jabbering and i look ahead to see a car spinning down the highway in my lane on a corner right by our turn off so i hit the ditch and burry the rig up to the windows, it takes me a good 15 minutes to even get out of the vehicle and I end up walking 2 miles home talking to myself the whole way. tractor still isn't quite warm enough to start so i thought i'd vent. a load of bulls stranded on the highway, a vehicle burried in the ditch, a bank appointment, need a new transmission, and a fella has to wait for his bulls (i don't think he will mind)
