Ron Paul Will Not Back McCain

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 2:21 PM

By: Newsmax Staff

Ron Paul is scaling back his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination and has ruled out running as a third-party candidate, but he’s making it clear that he’s not about to endorse GOP front-runner John McCain.

The 10-term congressman with libertarian ideals calls for the U.S. to bring overseas troops home and invest the saved money domestically, while McCain has vowed to remain overseas, especially in Iraq, for as long as necessary.

“I cannot support anybody with the foreign policy he advocates — perpetual war,” Paul said on Monday in comments reported by Andrew Malcolm of the Los Angeles Times.

“That is just so disturbing to me.”

It's funny now to see how all of you are s-lo-w-l-y easing away from him, bit by bit, inch by inch, step by step. Not a very loyal bunch at all!!

The only thing I have ever heard on here is people defending Bush on the War and I still will do that. I do not remember anyone defending his spending, securing of the border, treatment of border patrol and many more things.

Just because you can not differentiate between support on war effort and other issues does not make us easing away.

I have said on more than one occasion I think he is not a good president EXCEPT ON THE WAR! I can remember threads started by Mike on the border patrolman.

Conservatives on here are good at looking at all sides of issues and making decisions based on their beliefs not party loyalty. Its the Liberals here like you that are strict on party loyalty and issues.

Much like conservatives are now not supporting McCain just because he is a Republican.

Just because you can not differentiate between support on war effort and other issues

Ohhhh...hold the phone!! How quick you forget!!!

I can't name the number of times I got trashed here for saying I didn't support the actions of Bush...but I supported the troops.

How many times time was I told you can't differentiate between the two, it's all or nothing, " you're with us or you're against us", remember that little jingle?

How many times I got made fun of....called names....for actual doing something for the troops themselves, sending things they asked for, doing things they'd ask for that they were not able to do by being in Iraq.

does not make us easing away
No you're not ' easing' away....you're flat azzed RUNNING!!!

Just your reply in this post makes that obvious to all.

There is a big difference between supporting the president and agreeing with him on his stance against Terrorist and the Iraq War.

Than what you did. In one breath or action you sent cookies and possessions to the soldiers. But then vocally were anti war which helped strengthen the resolve of the enemy which only led to more American soldiers being killed.

When an enemy sees that if it cuts the throats of a few people on TV and drags a few soldiers from the streets that the American libs will start an anti war movement it only gets them to try harder to divide America.

You claim you supported the troops but not the war, I say you supported no one. you only helped put them in greater danger.

I do support Bush's effort to fight Islamic extremist where ever they can be found. But don't support his immigration ore spending efforts.

Dubya, at his worst, beats Hillary hands down, when she's at her best.

Dubya won't be on the ballet come November. Why the heck are we even bringing up his name on a thread about voting for McCain?

I cannot vote for dubya. Hence, there is no need for me to investigate what he is about. He's over. History.

Lets get back to the issues.

Not that it's any of your and anyone's business...but since you want to be a Mr. Know-It-All.

I ended buying B Day presents for some kids ,paying a few Dr bills here and there, some extra money here and there for many people in the Reserves called over to Iraq. I've even helped a few who lost their jobs due to several extended stays in Iraq find other employment.

For some asinine reason, you people are stuck on cookies.

Godtube: Christians Will Not Back McCain

Wednesday, February 13, 2008 2:53 PM

GodTube.com today announced that despite last night's sweeping victory for John McCain, a stunning new GodTube.com poll reveals that if McCain wins his party's nomination, Christian Conservatives would rather vote for one of the two Democratic candidates.

With a slim 9.1% support for McCain, and Huckabee a long shot for the nomination, Obama has become a viable choice for many Christian Conservatives with 26.3% of the Christian vote, up 8% from last week.

Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton showed no increase in the GodTube.com poll this week maintaining her 19.6% of the Christian vote while Republican candidate Mike Huckabee increased his lead 30% last week leading the GodTube.com poll by 45% of the overall Christian vote.

Not every Christian registered voter goes to GOD tube.com...

Polls often support the agenda of the group starting the poll...

Any effort is a good one. The problem is not rather you give cookies or pay bills. The problem is when people like you show the enemy that if they hang in there the Liberals will bring home the soldiers like they did in Vietnam. If you and everyone else shared the same resolve and support that we had in WWII then there would be saved lives.

No matter how much someone helps secular the best support is to help by showing we Americans are united in the fight against them.

If you read history- you will find that one of the big issues Truman used in deciding to use the Atomic bomb when he did- was, besides saving up to a million US soldiers lives by not having to invade Japan, he felt that if the war went into 1946 -when those invasions were planned for- the Republicans in Congress would force him to take a negotiated surrender to end the war....
You can't fight multiple crusades or 100 years wars in this day and age and expect to keep support.....Especially when the elected leadership has lost so much credibility on numerous issues.....

Well this war has lasted longer than WW2. I know you warhawks think we should just drop a bomb on the middle east like we did in Japan and make it one giant glass parking lot. That's cute, however when we dropped the bomb on Japan no one else in the world had the same technology, now they do. You just can't have your cake and eat it to.

The liberal Democrats (and some Republicans) and many of the American people are the ones that have lost credibility on the issue of war.

The liberals have absolutely zero credibility when it comes to maintaining the resolve necessary to wage war against those that wish to come here to kill us.

The President has demonstrated that resolve. He told all of us that this would be a long battle on many different fronts. He had the support of Congress and of the American people going into Iraq. Many people would like to forget that now.

President Bush doesn't have the luxury of changing his mind like the bunch of wishy-washy bitchers that want to quit now that they don't like the way things are going.

This war lasted a matter of just a few weeks. We defeated the Iraqi army and their leader has been put to death.

We are now in the occupation and rebuilding stage much like in Japan and Germany after WWII. That lasted for many many more years than we have currently been in Iraq.

We are also searching out and killing Al Qaeda terrorist that had nothing to do with the actual war between the U.S. and Iraq.

What is going on now in Iraq is truly a fight against terrorism. The battle with the Iraqi army and people is over. We are now fighting the terrorist that came there after the Iraq war.

Please explain where I was wrong? Are we currently fighting the Iraqi army? Is Saddam still the chief of their military?

Our battles now are with terrorist who want to continue the fight lost by the Iraqi army.

Same things happened in Germany. Once we defeated the German army there was still conflicts as we policed the country.

We are truly now fighting against terrorist. Even if the Iraq war was not wise the conflicts currently going on are mostly with Terrorist that have came into Iraq to fight Americans. That is a good reason to stay, because no matter what the original battle was, the current one is truly a battle against terrorist.

So I guess every Iraqi who disagrees with the US occupation is considered a terrorist?? There sure the hell isn't enough money in this country to fight that war and the people of this country sure won't stand to become bankrupt trying to push democracy on those crazy savages. If you don't believe me just wait until November.

I did not say Once we SINGLE HANDLY DEFEATED Germany.

The comment is an accurate one, as it would be if a Canadian made the same comment. I don't think when talking in general and using WWII as an example of occupation after the war, I would need to list every ally force in my comment.

You are a little touchy! And when you combine that with ignorance on the subject it makes you look bad.
