Holy cow! Why doesn't it surprise me the media barely mentioned this atrocity :? :???:

I knew there were mass graves out there, but it's worse than the media wanted us to hear.

They've had several specials on tv about this-- showing stacks of decayed bodies....This came about when GHW Bush didn't support the Sunnis in the south like they thought he would- after they revolted after the Kuwaiti war-- and old Saddamn came back in and killed them by the thousands....

The No Fly Zones were set up in the North and South to protect the Kurds and Shiites. These zones were monitored closely.

The only other way to better protect these people were to have troops on the ground.

The younger Bush was the only one to have the balls (and break ranks with the UN) to do this.

If what is happening in Iraq is GW " protecting" those people....if it ever comes to it...I sure don't want him " protecting" me.

Yes you would. Deaths have declined since the invasion. Especially if you count the ones that died from lack of medicine, etc. from the UN sanctions.

Don't EVEN get me started on the BILLIONS stolen during the "Oil for Food" program. Looks like Russia alone pocketed over $500 Million.

You probably don't need to be concerned with dubya much longer. He failed to be a diplomat and run around the U.S. kissing babies and shaking hands. He never tried to be the popular one. All he did is what he thought was the right thing for us.

Once he is gone and we are focused only on U.S. soil, those overseas that hate "The Great Satan" will again be plotting and planning their attacks on this soil. Not only will our grandchildren have to deal with debt, they are also going to be exposed to germ warfare, more 911 type incidents, and a government that is migrating toward socialistic goals. 20/20 hindsight will be that dubya was not all that stupid.

We can all then bicker about something else. We'll find someone else to blame for personal failures. Those that are broke and didn't save for the future will want what we put back. Nevermind that you worked multiple jobs and started out with less than they did.

It was the right thing to do. He mass murdered thousands of people, was a tyrant, and if he's got his hands on the nuclear weapons he'd nuk'ed us in a heartbeat! The only hope for regional stability was to settle things down. Did we do it right - probably not. The problem is this country no longer has the guts to discipline our own children, deal with murderers, or corupt business, let alone a tyrant.
Until we are willing to do what it takes at what ever the costs and show that we will fight with mutual support and with whatever it takes we will not be respected and left alone.

Read this:

For a man who drew America into two wars and countless military engagements, we never really knew what Saddam Hussein was thinking. But tonight, you're going to hear more than has ever been revealed before. After his capture, Saddam met every day with one man, an American that he knew as Mr. George. George is FBI Agent George Piro, who was the front man for a team of FBI and CIA analysts who were trying to answer some of the great mysteries of recent history. What happened to the weapons of mass destruction? Was Saddam in league with al-Qaeda? Why did he choose war with the United States? George Piro is the man who came to know Saddam better than anyone, as he sat with him face to face in a windowless room, trying to get to the truth.

PELLEY: No remorse? No concern for the kinds of things that he had ordered and done?

Agent PIRO: No. No remorse, no regret.

What'cha wanna bet that you'd get the same answer from GW if he was asked the same question?

Saddam and GW are more alike than they are different in many respects.

I thought it was a fascinating read/

They were the shiites in the south, saddam was a sunni. Otherwise, pretty much correct.
