Ilegal, Immoral Presidential Acts

Many times when we post of war crimes committed against
civilians and the brutality of the complete and total destruction
of the South, someone will invariably remark that Lincoln did not know.
We beg to differ...
From Sherman's official report:
"I estimate the damage to Georgia at $100,000,000-at
least $20,000,000 inured to our benefit, THE REMAINDER
WAS SIMPLY WASTE AND DESTRUCTION." Lincoln uttered no protest.
General Grant to General Davis Hunter, Aug. 5, 1864:
"Take all provisions, forage and stock wanted for use of your
command; SUCH AS CANNOT BE CONSUMED, DESTROY.
Lincoln said not a word.
Sheridan said:
"I HAVE DESTROYED over 2,000 barns filled with wheat
and hay and farming utensils; over seventy mills filled with
flour and wheat, etc." More silence from Lincoln.
There is not one single official document that records his disdain at the wanton destruction, rapine and devastation unleashed on Southern civilians. Not one official document specifically telling his invaders to leave civilians alone. Not one. He knew exactly what they were doing. He knew.
