Ranchers.net

Hi all,
Boy, it's been awhile since I've had time to sit at the computer. We haven't had more than 3 days in row without company since March 21st. That is waay tooo much company for a hermit like me!! :p
Things got really dry due to chilly weather and the constant wind. Then thankfully about the 18th it started raining and has rained off and on since then. And it was nice enough to let us get some new seeding alfalfa, and a field of oats/peas/barley planted just before the rain started :) It is coming up nicely. Did I mention I hate driving a tractor? Things got a little cranky around here with both of us driving tractors all day (we rented one so we could get done quicker). It's sure a good thing that I don't live where you farm in sections, I'd really get cranky :p
Grass is looking better since the rains. The early annual grasses are toast but the bunch grass is looking good. And all the ponds filled early for a change.
We had a party up in the mountains yesterday with all the neighbors. The folks we lease our rangeground from live up by Seattle so they brought down 20 dozen oysters and we BBQed them, had salmon also, and the rest was potluck. Lot of beer and lots of fun!
I'm not even going to try to catch up completly on what I've missed here. I'd be at the computer for the rest of the summerLOL.
I hope everyone is well, it's nice to be back :)
Happy Memorial Day, and thankyou to all the soldiers and veterens!!!!!
