I'm in a bad mood this morning and just decided to blow off a little steam!
Too much about the economy and politics I suppose.
My interpretation of a recession is that I have very little money to spend and that the bills are overwhelming my income causing me and the work that I do to die a lingering death. That creates a domino affect because the next guy down the line needs me to spend so that he can make a living. I need to be able to spend – not the government.
A depression is that most everyone has no money to spend or pay bills. In either case the high costs of everyday living stop me from being productive and self-supportive.
Giving me a $125 tax cut is like pissing in the ocean.
I don’t want to be retrained – I want to be able to continue doing what I do and make a living at it!
I don’t want government and the elected representatives so big and untouchable that I and the other citizens can’t control them and that they don’t have to listen to me.
I don’t believe that a few BIG corporations, farmers, ranchers or landowners are better and more efficient than lots of small businesses. Small business, including agricultural, have always been the basic fabric of America and kept it strong and actually some inefficiency is what makes the next guy a buck. When small businesses fail (and they do) there is a very small ripple effect but when large businesses fail it devastates many.
I don’t care if China, Russia, Mexico or any other country grows or fails economically – I care if we do! I don’t want to buy a tractor, car, or anything else that I can’t get parts for locally.
We’ve had the technology to have vehicles that can do better than 30 mpg for years – why should we let automakers wait until 10 years from now to produce them? “What’s the matter – don’t they have enough shares of stock bought yet”
Trade among different countries is fine when applied that “if you have something I need and I have something you need” is the basis for trade – not so that another country with poverty/slave labor can produce junk and bring it here to put me out of business!
Since you as a politician work for me, let me decide if you need a raise and certain benefits. Putting the fox in charge of the hen house has never worked.
Why are you so afraid of line item veto?
Why is it that every day as a born and bred citizen of this country I have to be asked if I want it in English or Spanish, worry about offending a other countries beliefs, have talk to someone in another country about a service question about a product I bought here, or pay my share of taxes to prop up another country’s economy?
Why should I have to be afraid to say “God”, the pledge of allegiance, or black Americans? This country was founded on a Christian God! I should be proud to support my country without worrying about being politically correct! There is no Afro-American – you’re either an African or an American! Be proud of your roots but support who you are and if you feel such a strong tie and need to support your linage then go there and be part of the solution!
Every businessman or company should have the right to run their business as they see fit but if you choose to do it in another country then don’t expect to sell your product back here. You become a foreigner and sell a foreign made product therefore take a backseat to American made products produced by American laborers supporting their families.
It’s bad enough that we have allowed 12 million illegal immigrants into this country and give them every benefit in the world, let them have every job opening that comes along and then use the excuse that “we don’t want to do that type of work”. Well, take those on lifetime welfare roles and tell them it’s work and a paycheck or starve, and the youth of today and tell them if you want a I-Pod then get your ass off the computer and phone and get a job! And, all those 12 million immigrants send likely 1/3 of the income they receive and send it back to Mexico thus doing nothing to strengthen our economy!!
Being a politician should not be a form of (particularly lifetime) employment but rather something we as citizens do as duty to serve our country. It’s time we put term limits on any political office from local to President.
Maybe we should move the Congress to Guateamo and keep all the lobbyists out. You know if everyone who isn’t an elected official left Washington it would be a ghost town.
A salary of even in the hundreds of thousands dollars isn’t out of line but any CEO making in the millions and additional perks is rape and greed and should be punishable! Any stockholder that sees a CEO and board members making those kinds of salaries should pull their money out. They put their pants on the same way you & I do and most likely work less so that while you bust your ass everyday they wine & dine at our expense!
There will be so much money spent to elect a president that it would almost pay off the national debt - too bad it isn't spent that way. That would do more good than what we will get on who ever is elected.
