When I went to bed on election night after reading that Obama was elected, I have to admit that my eyes welled up in a mix of emotions. It wasn't so much that I was sad that McCain lost the election because I don't think he would of made a good President to begin with. After taking a couple of days to sort through my emotions, I find that I'm bewildered, mad, and distraught.

I'm bewildered because after tens of thousands of US servicemen died and were wounded fighting so that other countries would be safe from Marxists, we put one in the White House.

I'm mad that people would put race ahead of reason and would completely shirk their responsibility to vet a candidate, especially after blaming McCain for not vetting his running mate.

I'm distraught because the people of this country just decided that the grand experiment that Jefferson, Hamilton, Franklin, Adams, etc... started is over. We're throwing all that genius away and now we're going to follow somebody who has never led in a direction that no other country has has any success at - all on the promise of a buzzword that nobody can explain.

Yup. Right as rain. What bothers me is some I have talked to are having remorse about voting against McCain. (Either by voting for Obama or another candidate)

One guy at the store this morning was beating himself up bad just for voting for Barr.

I made him feel a little better by explaining that McCain won the state anyway, so it didn't really matter.

We have a lot of stupid people in this country. A LOT!!

Sandhusker- If you don't like who got elected you have no one to thank for it but GW Bush and the Repubs that kissed his hiney for so long without questioning any of his actions...

As I told you 3 years ago- Americans were tired of his sellout of American industry and the American workers- along with American products- and his Corporate Fascist ideals of putting Big Multinational Corporates/Lobbyiests and rich elitists ahead of the middle income average Americans and the working man.....

We demand that big business give the people a square deal; in return we must insist that when any one engaged in big business honestly endeavors to do right he shall himself be given a square deal
Theodore Roosevelt

The American people are slow to wrath, but once that wrath is kindled, it burns like a consuming flame. - Theodore Roosevelt

Like I started telling you 3 years ago (and have been chastised dearly for) when Government doesn't proact to the wishs of the people- the people will react- and usually in doing so overreact....

The government we have now is thanks to the Bush/Repub Backlash and nothing more....

BUT REMEMBER: I TOLD YOU SO

That changes nothing. Voting for Obama because you're mad at Bush is like torching your neighborhood because you're mad a judge - you only increase your problems.

Hmmm, I was just trying to make a little analogy and I realized that liberals have done both. Pretty smart group of people.

By God, we'll show George Bush, we'll just screw up this whole country and vote in a Socialist with no credentials and a shady past. Yep, that's the thing to do....

So, does this mean you think the modern Republican Party represents Jeffersonian principles?

You obviously don't know much about Jefferson.

I said that I thought McCain would be a bad President and you interpret that to mean that I think the Republican party is Jeffersonian? How did you make that leap?

The wheels are off of the charity wagon. It can sit. If these people wanted him, they got him.

The prices of building stone and patio stone are doubled. It is called "The Obama Factor" The stone can sit there in piles for eight years if need be. I'll just keep piling it on. If the taxes off of my day job aren't enough, they'll have to get blood out of the turnip.

I'll still feed a hungry child. Not much else tho.
